— Endless Games description, Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise Official Website

Endless Games (エンドレスゲームズ?, Endoresu Gēmuzu), also known as Game (ゲーム?, Gēmu) in Rhythm Tengoku, is a place in the Medal Corner which consists of games that are played for an indefinite amount of time, until the player makes a certain amount of mistakes. Unlike Rhythm Games, these are played to earn a high score. These games are unlocked by earning Medals.

Rhythm Tengoku

The Game (ゲーム?, Gēmu) menu is unlocked after clearing Remix 1 and can be accessed in the Omake Corner.

The games have a pre-set High Score for the player to beat. They are all half the amount of points the player needs to reach before the game runs out of unique content.

The Endless Games (エンドレスゲームズ?, Endoresu Gēmuzu) menu is unlocked after clearing Built to Scale and can be accessed in the Medal Corner.

The games have a pre-set High Score for the player to beat. They are remarkably low.

Rhythm Heaven Fever

The Endless Games (エンドレスゲームズ?, Endoresu Gēmuzu) menu is unlocked after clearing See-Saw and can be accessed in the Medal Corner.

The games don't have pre-set High Scores, instead the game tallies the "Personal Record" (of the current save file) and the "All-Time Record" (across all save files), as well as separate personal records for both players in the Two-Player Endless Games. The personal best record shows an icon or Mii, which for One Player is taken automatically from the save file. In Two Player, both players must input the icon or Mii when setting a new record, though both players can use the same Mii.

In Minna no Rhythm Tengoku, while the game does acknowledge when the player achieves a High Score, it still plays the regular Game Over jingle. A dedicated jingle was added in the international releases. One of the games was replaced in the international versions, and the rest were moved around to compensate.

Two-Player Endless Games

The Two-Player Menu has its own set of Endless Games, known as the Two-Player Endless Games (ふたりでエンドレスゲームズ?, Futari de Endoresu Gēmuzu), or the Endless Dual Games in Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise. It is available as soon as the Two-Player Menu itself is unlocked.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix

In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, there is no menu for the Endless Games. Instead, the Gatekeeper Trio halts the player's progression at certain points, and only lets them pass the Gate by clearing one their Trials, each of varying difficulty, and challenge charge:

After clearing a trial, the player is allowed to continue past the gate, but they can still go back and try the other Trials. The player can replay cleared Trials for free. Clearing all three Trials unlocks the game as an Endless Game in the Museum. If the player spends 30 Coins without clearing any of the trials, the Gatekeeper Trio allow them to continue anyway.

As the Endless Games don't have any Epilogues, a second Rhythm Item can be obtained to fill its space in the Museum by achieving a certain score, although the game doesn't specify how much is required and instead only displays the current save file's personal best. It also doesn't acknowledge High Scores at all.

Trivia

  • In Rhythm Tengoku, Mr. Upbeat is the only Endless Game to play a different sequence for High Scores, as Mr. Upbeat pumps his fists into the air in celebration as opposed to falling over disappointed. All other Endless Games do the same thing regardless if the player achieved a High Score or not.
  • In Rhythm Heaven, Coin Toss is the only game to not play the Game Over sequence, instead it merely resets the player's score. Unused graphics for the words "Game Over" can be found, however, and the Game Over sequence plays like normal in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
  • Endless Remix stands out as not only is it a Remix of Endless Games, but it also features three games not seen outside of it, and is the only game unlocked with Perfects instead of Medals.
  • In the first three games, at least one Endless Game is a version of a Rhythm Game, namely Sick Beats, Quiz Show, Shoot-'Em-Up and Bossa Nova. In Rhythm Heaven Fever, there is no such game for the One Player Endless Games, but there is unused content suggesting Manzai was originally meant to be a Rhythm Game with an Endless version.
    • Meanwhile, Manzai getting replaced with Mr. Upbeat in the international versions of Rhythm Heaven Fever effectively moved the Medal requirements for all of the other Endless Games, and marks the first time an Endless Game was remade in a later installment. It is also possible this is the reason a "New Record" jingle was created, to take up the missing slot for Manzai's music in the Music List, as Mr. Upbeat reuses the Practice Theme as its music.
  • Sick Beats is the only game whose Trial clear condition is to reach the end rather than a certain score. It lasts two loops of the music, just as long as the non-Endless version did in Rhythm Tengoku, although none of the Trials match the gameplay of the original.
  • The number of Endless Games in Rhythm Heaven is one less than the number of Rhythm Toys. However, there are remnants of one more Endless Game (the sprite meant to be seen on the menu, internally named "demo_game_passboys". The sprite itself is blank).
