The game stars the Taiko Rally Squad. The player controls a blue drummer who is competing against the red team in a taiko duel. The red drummer plays a pattern on the drum, and the blue drummer must copy it. While they drum, a set of cute cheerleaders dance around beneath them.
Perfect!/Ace!?: Yellow stars emit from the drum as it makes a deep sound. The cheerleaders wave around their pompoms in celebration at the end of the turn.
Early!/Late!?: Black sparks emit from the drum as it makes a high pitched sound. The drummer makes an embarrassed face. The cheerleaders wave around their pompoms in celebration at the end of the turn.
Miss...?: The player does nothing. Attempting to hit the drum when the player is not supposed to causes black sparks emit from the drum as it makes a high pitched sound. The drummer makes an embarrassed face. The cheerleaders stumble over at the end of the turn.

Oddly, the player is able to flick in this game, despite this action not doing anything. This trait is shared with Shoot-'Em-Up, Freeze Frame and Munchy Monk. All other games that don't use the flick don't allow the player to perform it.
