Mochi Pounding (押忍!15もち?, Osu! 15 Mochi) is the 2nd Two-Player Endless Game in Rhythm Heaven Fever, unlocked with 2 Duo Medals.

Gameplay

The two players must alternate pounding rice in a bowl, and they must hit it enough times within the time limit. Level 1 begins with 15 hits needed, and each level after requires 20 hits more than the previous. Level 5 requires 100 hits, and each level after that adds 10 more to the previous.

Each level gives the players three chances. The timer, which counts down from 15, begins as soon as a player hits the rice. The current player's turn is indicated by which worker is moving to the beat. Once the rice has been pounded enough, it becomes mochi. The player colors are indicated by their character's pants--their headbands have the other player's color.

Controls

  • Ⓐ: Swing hammer

Timing Display

  • Perfect!/Ace!: The worker hits the rice on their side, reducing the hits counter, and moving the rice to the other side. Once the number reaches 0, the mochi flies out and lands in a woman's hands. The score counter is set to the amount of hits needed from the cleared level.
  • Early!/Late!: N/A
  • Miss...: The worker hits the bowl, breaking it in half, and the mochi looks upset. If the timer runs out, a bell rings and the players must retry. Failing three times in the same round ends the game.

Trivia

  • Mochi is a traditional Japanese pastry made from rice. While there are easier ways of making mochi now, what is performed in the game is mochitsuki, a mochi-making ritual for New Year's Day.
  • With each level, the prepared mochi may get more complicated in design. Occasionally, it becomes one of the Dough Dudes instead.
