Gameplay

The machine is shaped like a giant heart with lights on the outsides. In the middle stands Love-san, where he gives confessions. Below the stage reads a glowing sign that says "LOVE". Similarly to the Neko Machine and Rap Machine, there are buttons on it arranged in the layout of the Game Boy Advance labeled with what they do.

The background is a dark blue color that makes the red heart contrast well. Pink heart outlines can be seen on the dark blue color.

Controls

  • Ⓐ: love/hate (スキ/キライ?, suki/kirai) (Sometimes causes the voice to cough instead)
  • Ⓑ: but (でも?, demo)
  • ✚: Say a phrase
    • Up: why (どうしてから?, dōshite kara)
    • Left: me (私ね?, watashi)
    • Right: you (キミが?, kimi ga)
    • Down: . (。?, .)
  • Select: Return to the Rhythm Toys Menu.

Video

Trivia

  • The music is a slower and calmer version of the Game Select music.
  • The song for The☆Bon Odori was originally performed in the first draft by a "designer girl" who is also known to have voiced Space Dance and Kokuhaku Machine[1]. Based on internal data, this may be Sachiko Ikeo[2].
  • Kokuhaku Machine makes an appearance in the attract mode of Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade), where players can play around with the buttons for a given amount of time.

(First, Nintendo created the basis for the song. I wrote the lyrics and music myself, asked a designer girl to sing the song, and had Tsunku♂ listen to it. Then, Tsunku♂ complimented me on my song, saying, "The singer is good". I had faint hopes that they might use the song as it was, but then, after that, Ami Tokito sang it for us. Even though it was just a draft, I put a lot of energy into it (laughs).
