Trey (モックン?, Mokkun) is a character encountered in Lush Woods in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Description
Trey appears to be a walking tree. He wears glasses on his face, teal overalls, and white boots. He has two leaves on the side of his head serving as ears. He has a very laid back and carefree personality, and he doesn't take things too seriously.
Story
If the player visits Eglantine at the Café after clearing Songbird Land, she may foreshadow their meeting with Trey, as she speaks of the mysterious tribe that has been living in the Lush Woods for a really long time[1].
After Tibby and the player pass the Gatekeeper Trio's trials at The Third Gate, they finally reach Lush Woods, where the Green Tower can be found. Here they meet Trey, who congratulates them on being the first in a long time to come this far[2], informs them the tower is properly known as Lush Tower, and explains that his tribe has been guarding it for a long time, though he doesn't know who named it[3]. When asked if the tower can help Tibby reach Heaven World, Trey mentions an old prophecy passed down by the elders that the tower can guide people to heaven[4]. Trey then agrees to help Tibby reach Heaven World by having him and the player climb the tower, clearing the five Rhythm Games within in order to restore its flow[5], and then he would activate its hidden power[6]. Upon clearing the games and reaching the top of the tower, Trey performs a ritual to pour power from the surrounding trees into Lush Tower to awaken it[7].
Using the power of the Lush Tower, Tibby rides a beam of green light up into the sky, but this is not enough to reach Heaven World, and he falls back down again. Trey worries about Tibby's wellbeing, and is relieved to see he's OK[8]. He realizes that the power of Lush Tower by itself is not enough to reach heaven World[9], and he recounts one of the many legends passed down to him by his grandfather, which he recounts as the following:
- "One who relies only on the green will... soon bump his head on something. But one should never give up... To open the path to heaven... one must collect a rainbow of power. To gain such power... one must awaken six towers' worth of power... in yellow, aqua, orange, blue, red, and purple. Awaken those six powers and focus them on Lush Tower! Only then will your wish come true... and you shall never bump your head again. And, finally, little Trey... I will teach you the spell to unlock the six towers. Flow-flow-flah-flah♪ Flow-lo-LA-LA!♪"[10]
Tibby chants the spell, after which the six towers appear. Trey informs him that each tower has been guarded by their own tribes[11], and in order to wake the power of each tower, Tibby and the player need to clear the powered-up Rhythm Games within each to restore the flow, and thus gain the guardian tribes' trust[12]. Fortunately for Tibby and the player, the member of each tribe they meet are the same people they had already helped in the lands leading up to Lush Woods.
After clearing each tower, Trey congratulates Tibby for collecting a rainbow of power, and bids him farewell[13]. After this, Trey goes home to tell his grandfather that the ancient prohpecies have come true[14].
After Lush Tower is cleared, Trey may visit the Café as a customer, where the player can talk to him. He reflects on how he feels out of place and would like to live in the monotony of the suburbs[15], after which he may set his roots at the ocean, which he has never seen before[16]. He mentions wanting to get a leafcut, but doesn't have the heart to get rid of the crows nesting in his branches[17]. He talks about how competitive his grandfather is at photosynthesis, and reveals he is 6,000 years old, with Trey himself being "still spry" at 5,000 years old[18]. He loves drinking water, and has a recurring dream where he and an individual, who he describes as looking nearly identical to himself and kind of like Tibby, talk about water[19]. He asks the player to take things in moderation so they don't get tired[20]. He mentions the cinnamon coffee's aroma reminds him of his uncle, who is a cinnamon tree[21]. He loves autumn because his hair changes color without effort on his part[22]. He finds that keeping his hand warm in his pocket is mind-blowing[23], and he loves playing hide-and-seek[24].
Trey makes a brief appearance in Rhythm Tengoku The Best Plus Comic, where in Give it to me!, Shep is getting ready to cook, and dismisses Trey as a potential ingredient, mistaking him for broccoli.

Trivia
- Trey's appearance in Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+ featured bright pink lips. They were replaced with a pink nose in other regions, likely to avoid resembling the blackface stereotype.
- Despite this, Trey's one appearance in Rhythm Tengoku The Best Plus Comic still uses the Japanese design even in the English version of the comic.
