Metronome
Evidently, Rhythm-kan Check was not the first choice for an introductory rhythm game. Metronome (メトロノーム?, Metoronōmu)[1] can be accessed through Sequence Test in Rhythm Tengoku. Here, the player must press as the needle passes over the bird on the top, playing basically the same as the first test in Rhythm-kan Check. It displays the following text:

Measurement complete! Now, the results are...

During the measuring process, a counter appears on the top right, with "HI SCORE" written beneath it, having been repurposed later for Ura Otoko. Once it reaches 0, it gives the results, using the same screen as Rhythm-kan Check.
Metronome has its own unused sprites as well. The first appears to be a scale, with the left side saying おそ (slow?) and the right saying 速 (fast?). This was likely meant for an accuracy meter, with each bar lighting up to measure how on-beat the player's rhythm was. This concept is similar to the "Early"/"Late" measurement in the Rhythm Test in Rhythm Heaven Fever.
The other two are pictures of a person's face, with text written beside him (reading 速い (fast?) and おそい (slow?), respectively). Strangely, there also exists copies of the face, but flipped horizontally.
Ura Otoko uses the same graphics as Metronome, and as such contains all of its unused sprites. They are still considered separate games, regardless.

Regional Differences
During the introduction with The Bandleader prior to Practice Flicking, he claims that the game is controlled entirely with the Touch Screen[2]. This is incorrect, as the player must press the Start button to pause the game, and the button (or button if playing in Lefty mode) is required in Rockers 2 and the Technical Courses of the Guitar Lessons and Battle of the Bands. In Rhythm Paradise, this dialogue was corrected[3].
Rhythm Heaven Fever

Unused Content
Sprites of Marshal and Miss Ribbon looking dissapointedly at the player, presumably meant to be used for when the player missed.
Regional Differences
The signs used by Marshal, Cam, and Miss Ribbon read "Test in progress..." in Rhythm Heaven Fever, while in the English version of Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise, they say "Keep the beat!".
