Rhythm Heaven Megamix (リズム天国 ザ・ベスト+?, Rhythm Tengoku The Best Plus), also known as Rhythm Paradise Megamix in Europe, and Rhythm World The Best Plus (리듬 세상 더 베스트+?, Lideum Sesang Deo Beseuteu Peulleoseu) in Korea, is the 4th game in the Rhythm Heaven Series. It was released on June 11th, 2015 in Japan; June 16th, 2016 in the west during the E3 announcement; October 21st, 2016 in Europe; October 22nd, 2016 in Australia; and on December 1st, 2016 in South Korea.

This game includes 63 Rhythm Games from the previous three Rhythm Heaven games (18 of previous ones are located at the shop), 19 new ones, 12 "short" ones, 4 Endless Games, and 10 Remixes, making for a total of 108 games in all.

Main Game

Epilogue Wii Cheer Readers 2 OK.png

In the single player mode of the game, the player helps a character named Tibby get back to Heaven World by completing various Rhythm Games and restoring the flow. On their way, they meet various characters who guide them through their various lands; as well as the Gatekeeper Trio who block their path.

Throughout the game, Rupert pops in and out to inform the player of any events, namely when something new is unlocked, or when a Perfect Campaign is going on.

Challenge Land

Challenge Land is a new feature in Rhythm Heaven Megamix which allows up to 4 players to play various courses consisting of Rhythm Games with altered rules. The Perfect Campaign returns, as part of Challenge Land. If the player misses during an attempt, the game ends with the message "You Missed..." instead of continuing like a normal game. After a Perfect is obtained, the player does not receive a Gift. Instead, each campaign awards one Flow Ball, which can used to purchase Rhythm Games at the Shop.

List of Rhythm Games

The majority of games appear over the course of the story, where they are grouped into Stages of four; one from Rhythm Tengoku, one from Rhythm Heaven, one from Rhythm Heaven Fever, and one new for Rhythm Heaven Megamix. All towers have a Remix at the end as well.

The games in Honeybee Land, Machine Land, Citrus Land and Barbershop Land are short versions of the original games with new music and visuals. They take the original name and description of the games, while the actual original games are given new names, which in English often coincide with the Arrange versions in previous installments.

Earth World

At the beginning of the game, Tibby accidentally falls off Heaven World. A mysterious individual (the player) finds him, and agrees to help him return to Heaven World. The two see a Green Tower in the distance, and decide to go to it. They pass through various lands, helping various people with their troubles by clearing Rhythm Games along the way in order to progress.

Lush Woods

Once Tibby and the player finally reach Lush Woods, where the Lush Tower can be found, they meet Trey. He has been guarding the tower for a long time, and agrees to help Tibby reach Heaven World by having him and the player climb the tower, clearing Rhythm Games in order to restore the flow to the tower, and thus activate it's power.

After Tibby and the player clear Lush Tower, Tibby tries to use it’s power to return to Heaven World, but it is not enough. Trey informs him that they need a rainbow of power for that, after which the six towers appear. Tibby and the player are allowed to tackle them in any order they wish. The short versions from the lands return as "powered-up" Rhythm Games, which are the original versions, but renamed to avoid confusion. Many of their names and descriptions now coincide with their arrange versions, however.

After the six towers of Lush Woods are cleared, they focus their power into Lush Tower to create a rainbow, which allows Tibby to return to Heaven World. The story appears to be finished, however, Tibby sends a letter to the player saying there's trouble in Heaven World, asking for their help.

Heaven World

The player, using the letter to climb up the rainbow, reaches Heaven World. Tibby explains that he doesn't know what's happened, but trusts that with the player's help, they can fix it. They pass through a few lands, helping Tibby's friends by clearing Rhythm Games along the way in order to progress. Along the way, they learn that a strange sound was heard coming from Tibby's house, and dark clouds covered the sky. This lead to the inhabitants feeling depressed, not knowing who could've done this.

Mamarin Palace

After clearing all of the lands along the way, the duo finally reach Mamarin Palace, which is also Tibby's Mom. Here they meet Colin, who has been looking for Tibby to inform him that Tibby's Mom is in trouble. He asks the duo to climb up to the top of the palace to ask her face-to-face what's happened. To open the door however, they need to climb up the two towers next to the palace, clearing the Rhythm Games in them to restore the flow, and thus unlock the door to the palace proper.

The Rhythm Games in this section are the Arrange versions. In some cases, these end up being the *third* version of a game, having a completely new name and description. Notably, Karate Man Senior is not an arrangement of any existing game.

After clearing the Rhythm Games within Tibby's Mom and climbing to the top, Tibby tries talking to her. Although she doesn't respond, Tibby explains to her how much has happened along his way back, meeting a lot of people, and learning that everyone else has troubles like him. He says he has decided to live as one who helps others, but still gets no response from his mother. She then exhales, revealing she was actually holding her breath to cure her hiccups the whole time, which is what caused the spooky voice and gloomy skies in Heaven World.

Shop

Saffron's Shop allows the player to purchase Rhythm Items, Music and Rhythm Games. All games in the Shop are returning from previous games in the series. They can be played on the Challenge Train even before they are bought.

Café

In the Café, the player can access (from left to right) StreetPass Terrace, the Stable, talking to the Barista and other characters, the Shop, Museum, Badges, Memories, and Mascots. Each option is unlocked after certain points in the game. Notably, the Barista no longer helps the player skip games they are having trouble with; instead, Rupert shows up when it's time for that, and charges a fee to skip the game.

Endless Games

Endless Games return in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, including one game from each installment, and a new one of its own. They are unlocked by completing all three Trials set by the Gatekeeper Trio on that game's Gate, after which the endless game will be available in the Museum.

Missing Games

While most games returned in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, 24 didn't make the cut. The following are the games from past installments of Rhythm Heaven that did not return for Rhythm Heaven Megamix. (Arrange games whose normal version is in Rhythm Heaven Megamix are written in bold. Remixes, Endless Games, TempoUpExtra1.png Games, and Two-Player Games aren't listed.) Many of the Arrange versions have new patterns or new cues, which also exist in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, but are never used. It is debatable how many of these were actually intended to appear in the game or were simply leftover data from the porting process.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix Demo

The Rhythm Heaven Megamix Demo (リズム天国 ザ・ベスト+ 体験版?, Rhythm Tengoku The Best Plus Taikenhan), also known as the Rhythm Paradise Megamix Demo in Europe, and Rhythm World The Best Plus Trial Version (리듬 세상 더 베스트+ 체험판?, Lideum Sesang Deo Beseuteu Peulleoseu Cheheompan) in Korea, was released on June 15th, 2016 in North America and September 2nd, 2016 in Europe and Australia, along with the full release of Rhythm Heaven Megamix. It includes limited versions of the Rhythm Games and Challenge Land from the full version.

When choosing "Try Rhythm Games!", the player goes directly to the Introduction (which can be skipped), after which they meet Tibby, who rapid-fires through several games, and comments after each one. If the player gets OK or higher, they move on to the next game.

All epilogues are replaced with one thanking the player for playing the game (all of which play the "OK" jingle). It depicts Tibby calling out to the player. The text differs between the Flag of the United States.svg and Flag of the United Kingdom (3-5).svg versions.

Although the player is shown to get Coins after clearing a Rhythm Game, the counter gets reset after each game.

After clearing all the Rhythm Games, Tibby presents the player with a "Remix" featuring several games from the full version to prompt the player to purchase it.

The "Challenge Land (Multiplayer)" mode contains three courses not found in the full version; however, it is not playable solo. There are also two Rhythm Games exclusive to this mode.
