Coin Toss (コイントス?, Koin Tosu) is the 1st Endless Game in Rhythm Heaven, unlocked with 2 Medals, and the 9th Rhythm Game seen at The First Gate and can be unlocked as an Endless Game by beating the Gatekeeper Trio's trials in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay
In this game, the player controls a hand which tosses a coin into the air, and is expected to catch it when it comes down. The game keeps score by counting every time the player successfully catches the coin. The player must time when the coin will land by relying on the music. They can also use the timer in the first few rounds to aid the timing, with the coin coming down on 3.0. The background beat cuts more and more with each catch. After 5 rounds, the music slows down and the pattern repeats. The background music is composed of simple drums in Rhythm Heaven, which is expanded into a proper track in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. Exclusive to Rhythm Heaven Megamix, after 20 turns the laughs present in the track begin to randomise between two sets.
Trials
The player has the option to select which difficulty they want in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
- Saffron Trial: The player must catch the coin 10 times, and has 3 lives. The music never cuts out.
- Saltwater Trial: The player must catch the coin 15 times, and has 2 lives. The music cuts out at times.
- Paprika Trial: The player must catch the coin 15 times, and has 1 life. The music cuts out very often and starts at a slower speed.
