As the image scrolls to a vegetable, several hairs, both straight and curly, appear in a rhythmic pattern. To pluck the curly hairs, press and hold A button until it's plucked. You can use D-Pad to do so, too. After the pattern ends, a pair of hair clippers will start to scroll around the vegetable. The player must repeat the rhythm they were given to pluck the hairs. Curly hairs sometimes also appear, which require the player to hold down the button.

|[[niwanetwork:Masami Yone|Yone]]: In the early stages, the leading role was played by an old man. The hairs on his smooth head were designed to be plucked out (laughs). It hurts when the hair is pulled out, but it feels good when it is pulled out cleanly, so we wanted to express that kind of complex psychology, so we decided on a weird Arabic-style song. However, when it came to the final stages of development, we decided that even in a game, it would be a bad idea to pull out the hairs on the head, so the onion became the main character.

In this game, the player is plucking hairs off of Hair Vegetables. As the vegetables appear, several hairs grow in a rhythmic pattern. After the pattern ends, a pair of tweezers appear scrolling around the vegtable. The player needs to repeat the rhythm they were given to pluck the hairs. Some of the hairs are curly, requiring the player to hold the button or tap long enough to pull it out.

In Rhythm Tengoku, the background is white, with yellow onions and pink turnips. In Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade), the pink turnips are brown. In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, the background is purple, with more detailed onions and potatoes replacing the turnips.

Controls

  • Ⓐ or ✚/Tap: Pluck straight hair

My grandpa used to cook soup with
lots of potatoes and onions. He used
the veggies with the hairs growing.
I ate that soup just about every day...
You'd think I wouldn't be so bald
now.

Skill Star

The skill star appears on the 8th vegetable, which is a potato with one hair on either side and five hairs in between.

Commentary

The following is commentary given on the STAFF'S VOICE section of the booklet included in Rhythm Tengoku Zen Kyoku-shu.

Japanese Translation
小黒 この「リズム脱毛」は、任天堂の米さんがつくった曲だったのですが、曲を聴くとアラビアっぽいのに、どうしてヒゲを抜くか?って(笑)。 Oguro: This "Rhythm Tweezers" song was created by Mr. Yone of Nintendo, and when I listened to the song, it sounded Arabic, so I wondered why is it about pulling out hairs? (laughs).

Tsunku♂: I didn't expect a game about removing hairs (laughs). But it feels really good, doesn't it? When you pull out a long hair, you press and hold the button for a long time, and when you release it, you can pull it out with a pop. It's a great feeling to pull it out, and it seems to have a lot of fans among girls.

Yone: In the early stages, the leading role was played by an old man.

Trivia

  • The vegetables in this game also appear in Crop Stomp in Rhythm Heaven.
  • A picture of an onion can be seen in Cheer Readers. A picture of the vegetables from Crop Stomp can also be seen in Cheer Readers 2.
  • In Wake-Up Caller, when a flower grows, occasionally it has a Harry Onion, a turnip or a green onion with flowers on its top for a flower head.
  • This game's music can be played in Hi-Hat, where it is known as "Hi-Hat (Arabic Theme)".
  • In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, plucking a curly hair will always indicate perfect timing on the release.
  • WarioWare Gold includes an abridged version of Rhythm Tweezers based on its appearance in Rhythm Tengoku in the Mash League as a microgame in 5-Volt's stage. The player can only use Ⓐ to pull the hairs, and the patterns last for 8 beats as opposed to the usual 4. Additionally, the third level features a grey potato originating from Rhythm Datsumo 2. While the potato also exists in this version of the Rhythm Game, colored light brown, it only appears in Remix 8.
