These frogs tear up the stage, but what really sells it are the backup dancers! Go set that stage on fire! |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Frog Hop (ケロケロダンス?, Kero Kero Dance) is the 4th Rhythm Game of the fifth stage (24th overall) in Rhythm Heaven and the 2nd of Songbird Tower (59th overall) in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
The arrange version, Jumpin' Jazz, appears in the seventh stage in Rhythm Heaven and Right-Hand Tower in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay
The player controls a green Frogette, one of four backup dancers during a performance. As The Bandleader sings "Young Love Rock 'n' Roll", all the dancers shake their hips to the beat. The Bandleader and the female Frogette occasionally change the rhythm, with the female Frogette giving a cue for the backup dancers to follow along:
- "Yeah, yeah, yeah!": The dancers shake their hips three times in quick succession.
- "Yahoo": The dancers shake their hips twice quickly.
- "Spin it, boys": The dancers spin around. In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, this is also accompanied by a speech bubble.

- Perfect!/Ace!?: The player dances correctly.
- Early!/Late!?: The player sweats as he dances slightly off the beat. The sound effect differs between Rhythm Heaven and Rhythm Heaven Megamix. In Rhythm Heaven only, this does not cause the player to fail a Perfect Campaign.
- Miss...?: The player bumps into the frog next to him. The other frogs look worried at the player.

Trivia
- The Bandleader also appears in the Introduction of Rhythm Heaven and after clearing Remix 6.
- In Rhythm Tengoku Gold, there is an extra "Yahoo" during the line "Don't you know that that is just so square?", but in the other versions, this was removed. It was restored in all versions of Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
- This "Yahoo" is present in all versions of Jumpin' Jazz, in which case it may have been removed to differentiate the two a little more.
- Just before the last verse in the song, The Frogettes perform "Yahoo" three times in a row, followed by a spin. Due to how close together these cues are, the front dancers shake their hips one time too many for each, resulting in the direction they shake ultimately desyncing from the backup dancers for the last verse. The backup dancers also end up performing one shake too many between the last "Yahoo" and spin during this part.
- The building in the background of the prologue to this game in Rhythm Heaven Megamix is the same one from the prologue to Glee Club.
- This game and Frog Hop 2 are the only games returning from Rhythm Heaven in Rhythm Heaven Megamix where the flick motion isn't replaced with releasing Ⓐ; the Ⓑ button is used instead.
