Air Rally 2 |
You know what really livens up a long plane trip? Badminton. It makes the miles just fly by! |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Air Rally 2 (かえってきた バドミントン?, Kaettekita Badminton), known in Rhythm Heaven Fever as Air Rally (バドミントン?, Badminton), is the 3rd Rhythm Game of Stage 3 (13th overall) in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 3rd of Honeybee Tower (35th overall) in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
The short version, Air Rally, appears in Honeybee Land in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay
The game revolves around Baxter & Forthington having a game of badminton while flying in their planes. Every time Forthington hits the birdie, the player, who controls Baxter, must hit it back on the following beat. Forthington sometimes says "Ba-bum bum bum!" before hitting a birdie, indicating the player must wait two beats before hitting it back. He counts out loud, "Two, three, four!" to indicate a return to the normal beat pattern.
The game tries to visually mislead the player by having the two planes distance from each other. The beat remains the same, however, at any distance. In the middle of the game, the sun sets, leaving the two players in silhouette. At night time, the clouds start to obscure the player's vision as well.
Controls
- Ⓐ/Tap: Swing racket

Eh. Passable. | |
That was a great rally! You coped well with rhythm changes. You took the fast shots in your swing. |

The only way to play badminton! |
Mayday, mayday! |
Let's just try flying for now. |
High altitude badminton is great! |
I blame you entirely for this. | ANOTHER tied game? | Outta my way, duck! I've got a rally to maintain! |

Ever since Baxter started using this racket, I haven't been able to keep up with him! I can't believe how much better he's gotten--I must practice...and maybe buy a new racket! |
Skill Star
The Skill Star appears on the two slow rallies just before the background changes to night in the middle of the game.

Trivia
- At the start of the game, a flock of geese can be seen flying by. Sometimes, this flock is replaced by Captain Blue Bird and five members of The Blue Birds. One member is also seen in the Superb epilogue.
- Presumably due to hardware limitations, the amount of clouds was reduced in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, reducing their effectiveness as a visual distraction.
