Air Rally 2 |
You know what really livens up a long plane trip? Badminton. It makes the miles just fly by! |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Air Rally 2 (かえってきた バドミントン?, Kaettekita Badminton), known in Rhythm Heaven Fever as Air Rally (バドミントン?, Badminton), is the 3rd Rhythm Game of the third stage (13th overall) in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 3rd of Honeybee Tower (35th overall) in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
The short version, Air Rally, appears in Honeybee Land in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay
The game revolves around Baxter & Forthington having a game of badminton while flying in their planes. Every time Forthington hits the birdie, the player, who controls Baxter, must hit it back on the following beat. Forthington sometimes says "Ba-bum bum bum!" before hitting a birdie, indicating the player must wait two beats before hitting it back.
The game tries to visually mislead the player by having the two planes distance from each other. The beat remains the same, however, at any distance. In the middle of the game, the sun sets, leaving the two players in silhouette. At night time, the clouds start to obscure the player's vision as well.

Ever since Baxter started using this racket, I haven't been able to keep up with him! I can't believe how much better he's gotten--I must practice...and maybe buy a new racket! |

Trivia
- At the start of the game, a flock of geese can be seen flying by. Sometimes, this flock is replaced by Captain Blue Bird and five members of The Blue Birds. One member is also seen in the Superb epilogue.
- An unused sprite of a Threefish can be found in this game.
- Presumably due to hardware limitations, the amount of clouds was reduced in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, reducing their effectiveness as a visual distraction.
- While Rhythm World Wii otherwise uses the English dub for this game, the "2", "3" and "4" voice clips have their volume altered, creating a fade in with every count. The "1" voice clip was not changed however, making the first count in the game sound rather awkward. The modified English dub in Rhythm Heaven Megamix is used with no further changes in Rhythm World: The Best+, effectively reversing this change.
- Some of the voice clips for this game in Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+ are mistakenly changed from the original, and two English voice clips are also mistakenly used. All of these mistakes are fixed when playing with Japanese voices in all other versions of Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
- The English voice clip for "Ba-bum bum bum!" while Forthington is at the second closest position was completely redone for Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
