  • Ann Glerr (坂菜釣子さかなつりこ?, Sakana Tsuriko), also titled Master Fisherperson Ann Glerr[1], is a character who appears in Catch of the Day in Rhythm Heaven Fever and Rhythm Heaven Megamix. In the Rhythm Game, she is seen catching three species of fish.

    Story

Ann Glerr often writes in the Expert's Corner of Fishing Monthly (月刊釣り日誌?, Gekkan-tsuri nisshi), where she describes the fish she has caught and gives tips on how to catch them, with the three appearing in the Rhythm Game being her latest catch from the previous month. Her tips involve learning each fish's personality, and her final tip is "fishing is all about rhythm".

Depending on the epilogue, Ann Glerr either goes to buy fish from the Student at the market (Try Again), has dinner with fresh fish alongside a cat (OK) or she shows off the many fish, mainly the elusive Threefish, that she caught (Superb).

In Remix 5 in Rhythm Heaven Fever, she is replaced by a caveman.

The Quicknibble (スグクイ?, Sugukui), also known as the Gulper in Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise, is an adorable little orange fish with no sense of self-preservation whatsoever. They taste the bait twice then bite into it without waiting around. A Quicknibble appears in Love Rap and Love Rap 2 in a fish bowl, apparently owned by the Weasel Couple.

The Pausegill (ヒトヤスミウオ?, Hitoyasumiuo), also known as the Little Waiter in Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise, is a yellow fish. They are cautious fish with big eyebrows, and are described as investing in mutual funds and treasury bills. It checks the bait three times in quick succession, then waits a beat before biting. Ann Glerr is unsure why it bothers, as it always bites the bait anyway.

The Threefish (ミマチ?, Mimachi), also known as the Big Teaser in Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise, is a big blue fish. They tease the bait with their tongues and wait a count of three to let the fear set in before striking. If they get away, they laugh in a deep, quite suave and sophisticated voice.

A pink version of the Quicknibble, simply named the Tasty Fish (ネコに人気の魚?, Neko ni ninki no sakana) appears attached to a string in Kitties!, being used as a reward for The Kitties if they clap well.

    Trivia

    • In Police Call, holding down on the "TUV" key plays the sound of a Pausegill or Threefish (alternating with each press) tasting the bait.
    • An unused sprite of a Threefish can be found in Air Rally 2 serving as a background object, though it is unknown how this cameo would've been visible.
    • Sprite 3DS Rhythm Item Fishing Tackle.png
The Rhythm Item, the Fishing Tackle, is supposedly the best to use on Threefish, but the speaker in the description can't bear to take it out of the package, as it's mint in box[2].
      • While the descriptions for the Rhythm Items are mostly consistent across versions, the Japanese and Korean versions have a different explanation for this one. Here, the speaker used the lure (it being the same kind used by Ann Glerr herself), caught all three kinds of fish, and was amazed at the popularity they gained with the girls because of this[3].
      • In the French version, they believe the lure will be worth a fortune in 30 years if they keep it in the box[4], and in the German version, they claim it has a high collector's value[5].
