Template:Game-Nav Template:Game-Nav Template:Minigame infobox Rhythm Tweezers 2 (かえってきた リズム脱毛?, Kaettekita Rhythm Datsumō), simply called Rhythm Datsumo (リズム脱毛?, Rhythm Datsumō) in Rhythm Tengoku, is the second minigame that appears in Rhythm Tengoku. It returns as the 38th minigame in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, as the normal variant of Rhythm Tweezers.

The topic of this game is plucking the hairs off of vegetables, as well as dealing with the curly ones. In Rhythm Tengoku, the arrange variation, Rhythm Datsumo 2, is unlocked later on.

Gameplay

This minigame starts with an image of a vegetable. Several hairs, both straight and curly, appear in a rhythmic pattern. After the pattern ends, a pair of hair clippers will start to scroll around the vegetable, making the player repeat the rhythm it was given to pluck the hairs. Curly hairs also appear, which require the player to hold down the button for longer.

While the gameplay is identical in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, the background is now purple instead of white, and the turnips are replaced with potatoes.

Controls

Button Mode

  • A or D-Pad: Pluck regular hairs
  • Hold A or D-Pad: Pluck curly hairs

Simple Tap Mode

  • Tap: Pluck hairs
  • Hold Stylus: Pluck curly hairs

Timing Notes

  • Hit: The hair strand gets fully plucked out. If all of the hairs are plucked, The vegetable will smile at the end of the cycle.
  • Barely: Part of the hair gets plucked out, but some is left. A laughing sound can be heard. The vegetable won't smile at the end of the cycle. A barely counts as a miss.
  • Miss: The hair is not plucked.

Template:Game-Nav Template:Minigame infobox Rhythm Datsumo TempoUpExtra2.png (リズム脱毛 TempoUpExtra2.png?, Rhythm Datsumō TempoUpExtra2.png) is a variation of this game and the second in the Extra stage in Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade). In this variant, the tempo is faster, there's a new arrangement of the song, and the vegetables are replaced with a pumpkin, a radish and a watermelon.

Template:Game-Nav Template:Minigame infobox Rhythm Datsumo also appears in the 2P mode of the arcade version of Rhythm Tengoku, where it is referred to as Rhythm Datsumo 2P (リズム脱毛 2P?, Rhythm Datsumo 2P). Each vegetable is done in turns, first by Player 1 and then by Player 2. As a result, the game is twice as long as the regular version.

Trivia

  • The game was originally going to use a realistic photo of a human's face, but was replaced because the developers found it too creepy.[1]
  • The vegetables in this game later appeared in Crop Stomp.
  • A picture of an onion can be seen in Cheer Readers. A picture of vegetables from Crop Stomp can also be seen in Cheer Readers 2.
  • In the endless game Wake-Up Caller, when a flower grows, on rare occasions it has a Harry Onion, a turnip or a green onion with flowers on its top for a flower head.
  • This game's music plays in the Hi-Hat Rhythm Toy, named "Hi-Hat (Arabic Theme)".
  • The second type of vegetable changed the most throughout each version.

  • In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, plucking a curly hair will always indicate perfect timing on the release.
  • WarioWare Gold includes an abridged version of Rhythm Tweezers in the Mash League, as a microgame in 5-Volts stage. The player can’t use the D-Pad to pull the hair, and the hairs are always in the same rhythm for a vegetable.
