Tongue Lashing |
Chameleons are great pets to have around if you don't like your house to be infested with...critters. |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Tongue Lashing (カメレオン Chameleon) is the 4th Rhythm Game of Donut Land (17th overall) in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Gameplay
The player controls a chameleon, sitting on top its owner's finger. It must eat bugs as they fly into its line of sight. Yellow bugs will move at a constant pace from off-screen, while Red ones will wait a few beats before quickly moving.
Multiple bugs may fly into the line of sight at a time, meaning the chameleon will have to catch two at once. The game also changes the chameleon's placement on the screen to try and throw the player off. At one point, you'll see the chameleon's owner, Aniki, showing it off to his friend.
Controls
- Ⓐ/Tap: Stick tongue out
Timing Display
- Perfect!/Ace!: The chameleon catches the bug and swallows it, making it happy. During the part with the thugs as the bug gets eaten, they both smile with joy.
- Early!/Late!: The bug will stop glowing & laugh at you if you reach too early or late to catch it, making the chameleon upset.
- Miss...: You miss the bug and it passes by. During the part with the thugs, the bug flies into the right guy’s nose.

So many bugs, so little time. Those quick bugs are a bother. The poor thing is famished... | |
Eh. Passable. | |
The chameleon appears well fed. Quick bugs don't bug it! Omnomnommm! You did it! |
Is this thing defective? | Uh, I think it spotted a bug... | With a chameleon, who needs TV? |
Rhythm Item
Chameleon Wax | Nonstick Coating |
---|---|
I bought this jar of Chameleon Wax because the chameleon keeps getting stuck on the walls. With this stuff applied to his feet, he just slides right down! |
Skill Star
The Skill Star appears on the second red bug in the middle of the game.

Trivia
- This game is very similar to one from Rhythm Heaven Fever, called Chameleon. Both even share the same name in the Japanese version of Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
- The laughter of the yellow bugs when the chameleon goes offbeat is the piched-up voice of Slugger from Exhibition Match.
- The voice when the guy says "Yes!" after you eat the red bug is the same one from Toy Car in American version of Fever.
- This is the only new game in Earth World's Lands to not have a sequel.
- This is also one among four main Rhythm Games to be featured in only one remix across the entire series, that being Final Remix. The other three are Blue Bear, Pajama Party, and Kitties! (all three being in Left-Hand Remix).
