The Chameleon[1] (カメレオン[2]?, Kamereon) is a character, who appear in Tongue Lashing in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Story
The chameleon's origin story is told in Rhythm Tengoku The Best Plus Comic in 04 アニキとカメレオン その1 and 05 アニキとカメレオン その2 (Aniki and Chameleon). Part 1 starts off with Aniki[3] yelling at A Boy and His Crush to stop staring at him. As they run away, Aniki spots a chameleon in the bushes. He tries to scare him off, but fails. The chameleon proceeds to stick his tongue in his face. In part 2, Aniki meets up with his friend, who is surprised to see him happily walking around with a chameleon. Aniki says the little guy is a loner just like him, so he kept him as a friend. Aniki's friend thanks the chameleon for making someone as scary as Aniki to be so nice, but as he looks down, the chameleon sees a bunch of bugs in his face, and tries to eat them.
The yankees[4] keep the chameleon as a pet. He stays on one of the two men's finger throughout the game, and catches any bugs that go into his line of sight. Because the chameleon keeps getting stuck on the walls, they bought a jar of Chameleon Wax to use on his feet, which makes him slide right down[5], but they didn't account for the chameleon hurting himself as a result[6]. The wax improves the chameleon's liveliness, reinforces his contrast and makes his colors pop. Aniki also uses the wax as hair gel[7][8].
