The Dazzles |
The snappy starlets called the Dazzles need a new member for their TV show. Give them a dazzling audition! |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
The Dazzles (ボックスショー Box Show) is the 14th minigame in Rhythm Heaven and the 94th minigame in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. This game is about a girl who is auditioning for the TV hit group The Dazzles. A sequel is unlocked later on in Rhythm Heaven called The Dazzles 2. "Love Ooh Ooh Paradise" is played in this game.
Gameplay
The playable character follows the rest of the girls in rhythm and is the supposed to be the last to crouch down in an ice-cube tray-like stage. The player holds down to the screen/a button to a 'One-two-three' cue, then jumps up in time when everyone else has jumped.

Timing Display
- Perfect!/Ace! The player's Dazzle will crouch in sync with the others and the routine continues. When jumping up, the player's Dazzle with have stars emitting from her finger.
- Early!/Late!
- Crouching: There is none in Heaven, but in Megamix, the box darkens as normal, but the yellow spotlight won't appear around the player.
- Posing: The player's Dazzle will have no stars emitting from her finger.
- Miss...: When crouching, the box does not darken, at which point the player cannot follow up with a jump, ruining the routine. Doing this or crouching out of order will prompt the other Dazzles to glare at the player's Dazzle. If the player jumps when they're not supposed to, the other Dazzles with stumble over and clutch their stomachs in embarrassment and won't continue the current routine.

You just pour water into it and leave it in the freezer to make ice cubes. Did you know that round ice melts slower than cubes? You'll have to look up why, I feel like I've seen this before... Why? |
Skill Star
The Skill Star appears on the pose during the line "Singing for you."

Trivia
- Play-Yan from Rhythm Tengoku's Night Walk can be seen hanging off one of the stars that periodically appear from jumping to the beat in sync to the music.
- In the official artwork for The Dazzles in Rhythm Heaven, there are a few design errors;
- The blond girl is a brunette instead. In addition, there is no stripe on her dress.
- The hair of the glasses-wearing and orange-haired girls are red instead of their respective colors (brown and orange).
- The player's Dazzle has lighter hair than what she looks like in-game. She also lacks her unique brown eyes.
- All of the girls have white undershirts, despite the game lacking that design choice.
- Every Dazzle except the hair clip-wearing girl have eyelashes.
- This was likely excluded in-game because of the graphical limitations of the DS.
- Similarly to the above trivia, Rhythm Heaven Megamix's official artwork of one of The Dazzles shows her with a turtleneck dress instead of one which shows her neck.
- There is an unused Superb Screen for Rhythm Heaven's unused graphics. There are unused sprites in Rhythm Heaven's rating screens, showing the girls with pink dresses as opposed to red dresses with a white stripe. There is also an unused 3D model in the game which only contains textures of four of the girls wearing the pink dresses. Interestingly, the Pop Singer in the Rhythm Heaven version of Fan Club wears a pink dress exactly like the unused ones.
- A remnant of this old design can still be seen in the OK epilogue in Rhythm Heaven, as one of the girls is wearing pink shoes as opposed to red, and on the menu icon, where the girl is wearing a pink dress.
- This is one of a few games to get new designs in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. The Dazzles have been redesigned to match the appearances of the real-life singers, THE Possible. The game was also switched to a horizontal layout.
- In the Try Again epilogue in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, the Dazzles are wearing different, pink training outfits instead of the light blue training outfits from Rhythm Heaven. Interestingly, they don't wear these outfits in the practice section like they did in the original version of the game.
- The dazzling pose near the "Singing for you." line no longer triggers the stars in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. Yellow spotlights are also added so it will help the player follow the cues properly.
- In the Megamix version, the right arm of the bottom middle Dazzle crops through her hair.
- There is a glitch in the Megamix version. If the player holds down on the crouching cue but doesn’t release at the posting one, the player should still be holding during the next crouching cue. The spotlight still appears even though the previous cue hasn’t been followed correctly.
