Packing Pests
Welcome to quality control! Product goes in the box. Anything else--just knock it away. Let's get to work! |
Template:Minigame infoboxPacking Pests (しわけ?, Shiwake) is a game in Rhythm Heaven Fever. The player controls an employee who must catch the pieces of candy, and then drop them into the cardboard box while slapping away the Treat Spiders. A sequel is unlocked later on called Packing Pests 2.
Gameplay
The player must control a worker in a candy factory by sorting out the products. The player must catch candies and smack spiders while listening for the cue "Double up!" (Japanese: いくぜ! Ikuzei!) when the player will have to smack two spiders.
Controls
- A + B: Catch
- A: Slap
Hit or Miss
- Hit: The candy will be grabbed and dropped in a box. Spiders are slapped forward to the ground, and walk back offscreen.
- Barely: The candy is grabbed, but a "tink" sound is made. Spiders will be only grazed, making them fall straight down.
- Miss: Candy and spiders will fly past you and into the employee's workspace, making him shudder (with a more visible shudder for spiders). Slapping candy instead of grabbing it cause it to be knocked down. Grabbing spiders instead of slapping them causes the employee to grab them, then drop them and shudder.
Rating Notes
- Try Again: "Wait! Is there ANY candy in here?!"
- Ok: "Whew! Tough shift!"
- Superb: "Completely spider free! Well done!"

Trivia
- The money thrown at the end of the game counts as one of the requirements for a Superb rank. This means that if you get all the other things right, but miss the money, you only get an "OK" rank.
- The employee played in this rhythm game bears a striking resemblance to Munchy Monk. He also slaps the spiders in a very similar manner as to when the Munchy Monk slaps his arm. He is however not confirmed to actually be the Munchy Monk.
- The employee is only given an ID number exclusive to the North American release.
- The employee' ID number, #333-4-591032, is a symbolic code for "EEE, a spider!"
- In the European Version, the sign says "Quality Control" instead of "Spider-Free Candy"
- According to debug notes found in the files of Rhythm Heaven: The Best +, this game, Fork Lifter, Cheer Readers and Board Meeting would have its story mode variant added in that game but got cut for unknown reasons.
