In this game, the player controls a Cadet, who is undergoing marching training with three other cadets while following their Sarge's orders. The game's sequel, Marching Orders 2, is unlocked later on in Rhythm Tengoku.
Gameplay
The player controls a cadet on at the end of the line, and must follow the general's orders. There are four commands: March, Halt, Left Face Turn, and Right Face Turn. The player must perform these with proper timing. After a while, the cadets will be dragged offscreen, ending the game.

Button Mode
- A: March
- B: Halt
- Left: Left Face Turn
- Right: Right Face Turn
Simple Tap Mode
- Tap: Appropriate action
Timing Notes
- Hit: The player does the action at the proper time as the other cadets.
- Barely: The General will angrily frown. A barely counts as a miss.
- Miss: The General will turn red with rage while steam puffs out of him.

- Try Again: "Back to basic training..."
- OK: "This is what we trained for!"
- Superb: "Mission success! I'm glad we drilled so hard!"

Trivia
- In Rhythm Heaven's game Shoot-'Em-Up 2 , the Shoot-'Em-Up Radio Lady who appears on the communicator is wearing a marching helmet.
- A Barely counts as a miss only towards perfect and superb. It qualifies as a hit towards an OK rating.
- Along with the rest of Stage 1, this game has a counterpart in the arcade version at 150% speed, with a more vibrant synth for orchestration and different graphics.
- This is one of the few games in Rhythm Tengoku that has more than or equal to 3 commands while this one has 4 commands.
- This is one of a few games to have different rating screens of both versions, except to the Superb rating screen that keeps the same style as it did in the original.
- This is the only game in Megamix to use every button (the D-Pad, the "B" button and the "A" button).
