Exhibition Match |
OK, Mr. Big Batting Hero, time to show off your skills in an exhibition match. Don't let anything get past you! |
Rhythm Heaven Megamix |
Template:Game-Nav Template:Game-Nav Template:Minigame infobox Exhibition Match (バッティングショー?, Batingu Sho) is the 23rd game in Rhythm Heaven Fever and the 16th minigame in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. This game's setting is in a baseball field and requires the player to swing at baseballs.
Gameplay
The player controls Slugger, the batter in yellow on the left side of a baseball field. On the other side of the field is the Pitcher, a young girl wearing pink. She will throw a baseball at the batter. The baseball will be thrown behind a curtain and will fly out after four beats. The player needs to swing on the fifth beat to hit the ball.
The entire game revolves around trying to mislead the player. Although you only need to swing on the fifth beat, the game will try to use visuals and sound to confuse the player. This includes making the screen visibly beat in an unhelpful pattern, zooming in, cutting off music, and at one point zooming all the way out of the park.
In the end, its revealed that the curtain in the middle was hiding a monkey. It turns out that it was catching the ball from the pitcher and throwing them at the batter after five beats, causing the delay.
Controls
- Ⓐ/Tap: Swing bat
Timing Display
- Perfect!/Ace!: The batter will successfully hit the ball at the screen (literally breaking it at one point) as the crowd cheers. The more hits the player make as the game goes on, the more the batter will show off, doing things like waving his bat. The pitcher will also get more upset and nervous as more hits are made, and will even throw her hat on the ground if the first five throws are hit. Before the last throw, she will sweat when the monkey is shown.
- Early!/Late!: The batter will simply tap the ball as it falls to the ground. The pitcher will be happy when this happens.
- Miss...: Not even hitting the ball when swinging will cause the batter to spin around from the swing, the audience amused. Not swinging at all will cause the batter to look confused as the ball goes past him. Either way, the pitcher will be happy.

Only the best batters get to appear in these exhibition matches, but I hear that at least one got there by just being a big, scary guy that no one wanted to refuse. |

Trivia
- The game's theme is reminiscent of the Rhythm Tengoku game Spaceball.

- Both have the same crowd cheer sound effect at the beginning.
- Both are on Set 5 of their games.
- Both involve performing the action after waiting until the end of a measure.
