The male scientist student gets a flask tossed to him. He will shake the flask a number of times and toss it to the female student (the character played in the game). The flask must then be shaken the same number of times he shook it by relying on the tone of rhythm in the game. The player then must toss the flask to the other student in the lab. If the flask was shaken correctly and in time, all of the hearts made by both students will be combined and fall into the white bag.
The player controls a person's hand holding a fork in the front of a wide blank table. On the other side of the table, a hand is shown through a zooming bubble. When the game starts, the hand will flick pieces of food (mostly pea-like objects with a mini-hamburger at one point) towards the fork. The player will have to get the right timing and spear the food on the fork as it zooms towards it. If food is successfully caught, it stays on the fork until three or four pieces are on it, in which the hand will lift and the person will eat the food. The speed the peas move at is always the same, but how many and the spacing between them varies.

*Hit: The fork will spear the food precisely on the center prong. If all the food on a forkful is gotten this way, the person will gulp down the food when it is eaten.
*Hit: The flask is successfully grabbed, shaken and then tossed to another scientist. The hearts will combine and fall into the white bag.
*Barely: The food will be caught in between two prongs, the two depending on if it was speared too early or late. If a piece of food is on a forkful this way, the person will cough when the food is eaten. A barely counts as a miss in this game.
*Barely: Grabbing the flask too early or too late will result in a heart either not coming out or floating away. If throwing the flask too early or late, it will cause the hearts to float away even if shaken correctly. A barely counts as a miss.
*Miss: The food will zoom past the fork and an audience will groan.
*Miss: The flask is not grabbed nor tossed, instead falling onto the counter and breaking into pieces. If the player holds the flask and does nothing, or shakes off beat, their hearts will not combine with the senior lab partner's hearts and float away instead. The senior's hearts, if left uncombined, will dissipate into skull shaped vapors.

A version of the game can be unlocked for the two-player mode. It is the first game in the mode, and is unlocked along with the two-player menu by beating the original game. The game has the first player using a blue fork, and the second using an orange fork. The hand will flick food at both of the players' forks, requiring them to stab the food. For most of the game, the food will be flicked at the same time by the hand, and the players can stab at the same time. Later in the game, the hand will flick to only one player at a time, with the unneeded fork going off the screen.

** The game shares this trait with Double Date.
*According to debug notes found in the files of Rhythm Heaven Megamix, this game, among others, would have a short variant in that game but got cut for unknown reasons.
** Both time settings are used in Remix 4.
*This game has slightly been upgraded in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, in which there are outlines added in the table, while the original didn't have those at all.
