The gameplay is extended longer and the rally game takes place in outer space with the paddlers in Rhythm Heaven or the cosmic dancers in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

Gameplay

The gameplay plays the same way as its sequel, but the gameplay is extended longer and it's more complicated.

The camera angle is not fixed facing towards the opponent Cosmic Dancer (Paddler in Rhythm Heaven) the whole game like in Rhythm Rally 2. The angle adjusts constantly and moves in front of moving obstacles that will block the player's view, so this way it allows more of a challenge. There is a new tactic introduced in the prectice. When you hear a clock ticking for eight quick beats signals that the rally ball is about to move at a very fast speed, keep pressing A to paddle a ball as faster as you can.

Timing Notes

• Hit: The player will hit the ball and successfully continue the rally.
• Barely: The player hits the ball of the table. If the ball is hit too early, it will veer to the right (when viewed from the right-handed perspective). If the ball is hit too late, it will veer to the left. A barely counts as a miss.
• Miss: The ball will bounce off the table towards the player. Whether it is a Barely or a Miss, the opponent paddler will serve another ball.

Trivia

• This is one of the four sequels in Rhythm Heaven to have a new cue and tutorial, the other being Fan Club 2, Fillbots 2, and Rockers 2.
• In Rhythm Heaven, both this minigame and Rhythm Rally have the same superb message "Nothing beats a good rally!".
• This is one of the sequels from Rhythm Heaven where you play different characters. Instead of the Paddlers, you have Cosmic Dancers playing table-tennis rally.
• This one of the few games in Rhythm Heaven Megamix to get a major overhaul for it game compared to the original version of it from Rhythm Heaven.
• This is the only threequel game to have a new practice section and a cue in megamix.
