Early Builds
Originally, Stomp Farmer did not carry a basket, and would throw onions behind his back. Tsunku♂ felt that this was probably a bad thing, so a basket was added where the Hair Vegetables would be collected[1].
According to a sell sheet for Rhythm Tengoku Gold[2], this game was originally known as 農作業 (Farmwork?).
Unused Content
There are unused animations of Stomp Farmer's various body parts, such as "bodyUpNormal" and "headUpNormal", which depict him arching his back with a sad expression. Based on the internal name's pattern, and implied in the "test" animation mentioned below, these may have been meant to be used for if the player stomped an object out of the ground but does not flick, essentially a miss animation. Stomp Farmer's expression and angle of his back do not change from what they normally would be in this situation in the final game. Notably, "bodyUpNormal" lacks the basket on his back, which is included as part of his other body animations.
A "test" animation also exists, depicting a fully assembled Stomp Farmer doing various actions, such as stomping with his left foot and flicking something, stomping with his right foot and flicking again, doing a regular step and somehow flicking an object without popping it out of the ground, and stomping with his right foot but not flicking, instead doing the aforementioned saddened expression with an arched back. Only the stomping with his left foot and flicking objects with his right foot raised have the basket on his back, which may suggest the test animation was created before the basket was introduced, and only a selection of sprites have it included for testing. The positioning of the farmer's body parts in this test animation does not always match how the separate pieces get assembled during gameplay.
Miscellaneous
The sprite for the grassy land at the bottom of the screen uses a mirrored copy of the top half for its bottom half, essentially creating an "other side" beyond the screen.

When he pulled out an onion or something, he threw it behind his back. Then I heard that a mole was playing a prank behind me (laughs). I figured that was probably a bad thing, so I fixed it so that he would carry a basket on his back.) ~ Tsunku♂, Rhythm Tengoku Zen Kyoku-shu STAFF'S VOICE
