Remix 2 Remix 9 |
Early Builds
Originally the game was about a king that would be sitting on the ground with his head in his hands, and a messenger standing behind him would hold the king's mouth and make him speak in turn. One day, this concept was suddenly replaced with the Moai[1].
Accoring to a sell sheet for Rhythm Tengoku Gold[2], this game was originally known as モアイ (Moai?).
Unused Content
An unused set of Moai voice clips include "su-an" for the held voice and "san" for the tapped voice. Additionally, unused voice clips of "konnichi", "sayona", and "gokuro" exist alongside, which seemed to be originally intended to connect to the tapped voice clips of the Moais.
Miscellaneous
Normally, each version with an ascociated prologue and epilogue would have the assets for them in subfolders within the versions they belong to. Moai Doo-Wop 2's prologue and epilogue are stored in monomane/ver2 however, which has the graphics for Remix 2 and Remix 9. It is possible they are simply attributed this way to save space, to avoid creating a duplicate of the normal graphics for Moai Doo-Wop 2.
Regional Differences
The prologue in Rhythm Tengoku Gold looks noticeably less polished compared to the international versions.
