'''Battle of the Bands''' is a bonus section in ''[[Rhythm Heaven]]'' which is unlocked after the player has completed [[Remix 10 (DS)|Remix 10]]. After that, the player can access the section by tapping the right-most part of the blue ribbon in between the minigame sections. In there, an ad tells you to sign up for "Battle of the Bands". There are two buttons, "Beginners Enroll" and "Pros Enroll". Each game consists of the [[Rockers (Characters)|Rockers]] with the camera behind them instead of in front of them allowing the player to see the audience, which includes almost every character in the whole game, as well as the game's staff hiding in the corners. The player cannot lose in this game and even if they did well, the Rockers will be put in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the Battle of the Bands results. Aside from that, nothing else in the game actually changes. In the Beginners game, the player plays all the songs from the Basic Course in order, and in the Pros game, not only the player will have to play all the Technical Course songs, they also get to play [[Rockers 2|"that one song"]] at the end. "that one song" has a chance of having the Male rocker not having audio cues.

The Battle of the Bands (ライブコンテスト?, Live Contest) is a bonus feature in Rhythm Heaven, unlocked after the player has completed Remix 10. It can accessed by tapping the right-most button on the blue ribbon in between the Rhythm Games sections.

On the entry screen, two buttons labeled "Beginners Enroll" (for the ★Basic Course★) and "Pros Enroll" (for the ★Technical Course★) are shown. To enroll, one must first complete all the Guitar Lessons in the ★Basic Course★ or the ★Technical Course★ in the Medal Corner each with at least an A Rank, then the player can enroll in the respective course.

The game takes place at Rock 'n' Roll Hall, where the Rockers are going through the songs from the ★Basic Course★ or ★Technical Course★ of the Guitar Lessons, after which they can place 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in the results.

In the ★Technical Course★, if the player does really well, they get to play "That One Song" at the end.

  • Tap: Mute strings
  • Tap (Hold): Mute strings/Prepare to strum
  • Tap (Release): Cancel
  • Flick: Strum
  • 🅁: Bend notes (Righty Mode) (★Technical Course★ only)

Timing Display

  • Perfect!/Ace!?: The player strums correctly, causing white bolts to appear. The audience cheers.
  • Early!/Late!?: The player strums slightly off tune, causing blue tears to appear. The audience claps.
  • Miss...?: If the player strums at the wrong time, the strum is very off tune, causing yellow vines to appear. Regardless if the player strums at the wrong time or doesn't strum when they should, J.J. Rocker stumbles over, and the audience boos.
