Unused Content
There are many lines used by Kosuke throughout the game, however there is exactly one which goes unused:
- 社員になりなしゃいん (shain ni narina shain?, Don't be an employee)
This game was apparently intended to be a Rhythm Game as well as an Endless Game:
- The name can be found grouped together with other Rhythm Games in the message files, in addition to a copy grouped with the Endless Games.
- There is a file for prologue textures for this game (named "layout_prologue_manzai_ver0.szs") which supports this idea, as in Rhythm Heaven Fever, only Rhythm Games have a prologue. Although the prologue file has no textures, it does produce a simple animation.
- This is further supported by the internal filenames for the music, being "WSD_MANZAI" and "WSD_MANZAI_TUTORIAL", specifically the fact that they are not labeled as endless (unlike, for example, Munchy Monk's music being internally named "WSD_ENDLESS_SHUGYO").
This would've made sense, as there have been at least one Rhythm Game with an Endless Game version in prior installments (Sick Beats, Quiz Show and Shoot-'Em-Up specifically). In Rhythm Heaven Fever, Bossa Nova fits this role for the Two-Player Endless Games, but there is no such game in the One Player Endless Games in the final game.
Regional Differences
Most of the assets for the game were removed from the international versions of Rhythm Heaven Fever, as the game was replaced with Mr. Upbeat. The only remnants are the unused prologue file, the music, the unused name, and the dialogue from the Practice. The name grouped with the Rhythm Games was localized in almost all languages, while the one grouped with the Endless Games was replaced accordingly with Mr. Upbeat.
Language | Name | Meaning |
---|---|---|
Japanese | まんざい | Manzai |
EnglishNOA | Comedians | |
EnglishNOE | Stand Up | |
French | Duo comique | Comic duo |
Spanish | Don Contratiempo | Mr. Backbeat |
German | Manzai (DE) | |
Italian | Spettacolo comico | Comedy Show |
Korean | Left blank in Rhythm World Wii. |
The dialogue itself was blanked out in Rhythm Heaven Fever, and each line is replaced with "Comedy Routine" in English, "Duo comique" in French, "(Manzai text)" in German and "Spanish" in Spanish, in Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise. In Rhythm World Wii, each line was replaced with "미사용" (Unused). The dialogue was actually localized in the Italian version of the game, however.
