Rhythm Heaven Silver is an unofficial English translation of Rhythm Tengoku. The project was started in 2012 and was restarted in 2019. It can be downloaded as a patch from the GBAtemp thread or on GitHub.

After the release of Beta 10a, a user named "WindowsTiger" also began a Korean translation[1].

In 2024, the project's maintainer, ShaffySwitcher, discontinued the project and began work on a more accurate localization titled Rhythm Heaven Advance, which can be obtained here

Translated Names

In early versions of Rhythm Heaven Silver, some Rhythm Games were given new names rather than being directly translated. As the translation project started prior to the release of Rhythm Heaven Megamix, most of the names differed. Newer versions of Rhythm Heaven Silver have since adopted the official names. This list is only of the names that differ from the official localization, including those from before Rhythm Heaven Megamix was released.

Games in italics had their names corrected following Rhythm Heaven Megamix's release.

Games with a * only had their names changed in the Game Select.

Trivia

  • The translation's title is an inverse of Rhythm Heaven's Japanese title, Rhythm Tengoku Gold.
  • In the original game, all the Remixes used the same description. Toss Boys and Toss Boys 2 used the same between them as well. Rhythm Heaven Silver keeps the original descriptions for Remix 1 and Toss Boys, and gives new ones for the rest. The descriptions also have "(No practice)" or "(NP)" for games that lack a Practice, which weren't marked in the original.
  • Some of the translated text includes new details not found in the original, such as エアーバッター速報 (Air Batter Report), renamed to "Inside Spaceball" here, being an interview conducted by "Ryan Williams, Radio Heaven News, Deep Space", rather than being left ambiguous.
    • Some translations seem to be incorrect due to incomplete context, such as Bon Dance's description implying it's another Bon festival where everyone is in high spirits, rather than it being the Donpans going on the big stage and clapping along to a groovy, modern day version of the song[14], renaming The Snappy Trio to "Trio on Tour", or the fact that Karateka's description (renamed to "Karate Man" here) is based on the one for Karate Man Combos! instead of the original[15].
  • The former lead translator, W hat, dislikes almost all of the official names, with the exception of Sick Beats[16].

  4. This name was only seen on the menu in older versions, as the prologue had always just shown "Spaceball". It, however can still be seen in the Studio.
  5. Although not technically an incorrect translation, internal filenames indicate that "Dr. Virus" is the intended translation.
  6. Also named "Tram & Poline" in the Studio
  7. 7.0 7.1 Renamed to match the Rhythm Games which were visually inspired by it, however the gameplay has nothing in common.
  8. Although named such on the Game Select and the Studio, the prologue still reads "Bon Dance".
  9. 9.0 9.1 9.2 Renamed in Beta-13a to match the official name of the base game as of Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
  10. The prologue also reads "Ninja Reincarnate", unlike the original where only "Ninja" is displayed.
  11. 11.0 11.1 11.2 Despite the base game being renamed in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, the latest version of Rhythm Heaven Silver still uses its own name.
  12. Named "Spaceball Game 2" in older versions, but the prologue had always just shown "Spaceball".
  13. Presumably renamed because the literal translation, "Mannequin Factory", wouldn't fit on screen.
