The Café in Rhythm Heaven.

The Café is a reoccurring location in the Rhythm Heaven Series. It is where the Barista works, and can usually be spoken to.

In most games, it is the place where the player can get practice on how to play the game or to view the gifts that have been earned through perfecting the main Rhythm Games.

Overview

In Rhythm Tengoku, speaking with the Barista is the only option avaliable. He will still allow you to skip games if you get three "Try Again"s.

In Rhythm Heaven, the player can once again talk to the Barista, who will hint at upcoming Perfect Campaigns and congratulate the player on getting a perfects. The Café is also used to view your unlocked music, Reading Material, and replay the introduction game.

In Rhythm Heaven Fever, the café is very similar to the previous game, with the same options available. The player can, again, choose to replay introduction game.

In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, the café has more features than before, now divided into five sections:

  • In the middle is the Barista, who you can still talk to for advice like before. However now, other characters may show up and you can talk to them instead.
  • To the right is a shop run by Saffron, where the player can exchange Flow Balls and Coins for rhythm games, music, or Rhythm Items from each game. The rhythm items replace the reading material from previous games.
  • To the far right is the Museum run by Saltwater, where the player can quickly access each game, more similar to the menus from previous entires. This menu is also where the player can play to their purchased music, rhythm items, and games. The player can talk to Saltwater to see the Badges and Mascots they've unlocked, and rewatch some of the game's cutscenes.
  • To the left is the stable with a goat. The player can pluck some turnips, which can be then feed to the goat in a pachinko machine minigame. Progression in the game unlocks mascots, which will appear randomly during loading screens.
  • To the far left is the Streetpass Terrance, where the player can play a VS version of Figure Fighter against in-game characters and people who you street pass with. Winning these unlocks chests that can contain coins or turnips.

Trivia

  • Although the Café does not appear in the arcade game, the opening piece of the music for it was repurposed for the ending screen if the player loses all hearts and does not continue the game.
  • The Café as it appears in Rhythm Heaven Fever makes a quick appearance in Mona's trailer for WarioWare Gold".[1]
