Gameplay

The player controls a crew member on a pirate ship to transport pigs across islands. Pirate Captain Jackie yells 3 different things to order how to row the ship:

Everybody row! (まっすぐすすめ!?, Massugu susume!) orders everybody to row on every beat.

Okay, right turn! (右にまがれ!?, Migi ni magare!) orders everyone on the left side to row every half a beat while those on the right side row normally.

And left turn! (左にまがれ!?, Hidari ni magare!) orders everyone on the right side to row every half a beat while those on the left side row normally.

Upon starting a voyage, the ship is loaded with anywhere between 1 and 6 pigs. Upon reaching the next island, the pigs are unloaded, with the player receiving 50 points per remaining pig.

Controls

  • Ⓐ: Row

Timing Display

  • Perfect!/Ace!?: The crew members row smoothly. A burst of energy radiates from the crew member if the timing is perfect; if both players row perfectly, they shout "Yeah!". Up to 10 points are earned per player depending on how close to perfect the timing is.
  • Early!/Late!?: The crew member rows a little roughly, making the oar turn red.
  • Miss...?: The crew member rows too roughly, or doesn't row at all. This causes the oar to collide with the others, rocking the boat, causing a pig to fall into the water. If all pigs fall off, the boat explodes as Pirate Captain Jackie is enraged, and the game is over.

Trivia

  • Inputting the code word AFLOAT in Police Call gives the player a tip about there being a code word in this game (the word is GOLFHERO: after a few voyages, the docks which appear when the boat reaches an island appear with a letter on them, spelling out the code word). The code word can be put into Police Call for an easter egg.
