Tokimeki no Story (ときめきのストーリー^?, Story of Excitement) is the song used in Lush Remix in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. The song was performed by Tokimekist (Chi-chan, Rino Hirayama, Mai-chan, Yurinko), written and composed by Tsunku♂, and arranged by Koichi Yuasa^[1]. The vocals were removed in the international version.

It was performed live in Rhythm Tengoku: The Uta Matsuri+, which is the only time the song was heard in full.

夕暮れの黄昏感満載の曲です。とにかく切ない。	This song is full of the twilight feeling of the evening. Anyway, it's sad.

横浜とか神戸とか、いや、ハワイ？う～ん、シンガポール？もっともっとどこか外国の港！？	Yokohama, Kobe, no, Hawaii? Hmmm, Singapore? Or even more, a foreign port somewhere!?

とにかく船上パーティなんです。ゴージャスな豪華客船のステージに立つという女の子のドキドキを唄にしました。	Anyway, it's a shipboard party. I wrote a song about a girl's thrill of standing on the stage of a gorgeous cruise ship.

絶対に輝きたい！そんな強い気持ちですね。	I definitely want to shine! That's such a strong feeling.

イントロが少々長く感じるのも演出で、なかなかゲームが始まらないというようなそんな「じらす」感じも乙女心と繋がってるように思います。	The fact that the intro is a bit long is also a directional effect, and I think that the sense of "stalling" as the game does not start easily is also connected to the maiden's heart.

メロディそのものは極端に難しいわけではないのですが、女の子の感情を表すという意味では、歌いこなすには実力が必要です。	The melody itself is not extremely difficult, but in terms of expressing a girl's emotions, it requires a lot of ability to sing.

ゲームの「リミックス」として絵やゲームが存在するので、僕が作詞作曲時に思い描いた「黄昏感」はまったくないんですが、でも、よーくゲームをやりこなしてみてください。この「リミックス」からすごいスケール感を感じるんです。	The picture and the game exist as a "remix" game, so it doesn't have the "twilight feeling" that I had in mind when I wrote the lyrics, but please play through the game. I believe you'll find that this "remix" has an incredible sense of scale.

世界中を大きな船で旅してるようなそんなスケール感。	It's like traveling around the world on a big ship.

皆様も音楽を聞きつつ、でも、このスケール感をたっぷり楽しんでほしいなって思います。	I hope that everyone will enjoy this sense of scale while listening to the music.

ちーちゃん、平山りの、まいちゃん、ゆりんこ　と　女性4名で歌っています。	The song is sung by four women: Chi-chan, Rino Hirayama, Mai-chan, and Yurinko.

この4人の声が合わさると、また、哀愁感が増しますね。	When these four voices are combined, it adds to the melancholy feeling.

この曲も8ビートっぽく感じると思いますが、しっかり16ビートを感じていないと歌えません。	I think this song also feels like an 8-beat song, but you have to feel the 16-beat to sing it.

ということはしっかり16ビートを感じていないとゲームも達成出来ないかもですよ～。	So if you don't feel the 16 beats firmly, you may not be able to beat this game either!

Trivia

The word "tokimeki" in the title refers to the beating of one's heart (out of joy or excitement). In the context of this song, it may refer to the feeling of anxiety the singer feels while dancing in front of an audience.
