Hi-Hat is a Hi-Hat with a tongue and two eyes. Bouncing on Hi-Hat are springs shaped like [[Mr. Upbeat]]. Hi-Hat's background is a solid light blue color that changes with the rhythm you play. With Hi-Hat, you can play 4, 8, and 16 beat rhythms. By pressing A+B, the tiny Mr. Upbeat springs can bounce off of you but you must release the buttons in order for the big one to bounce. By repeating this for long enough, music will gradually begin to play. If you miss, the music will partially fade out.

The player controls {{Nihongo|Mr. Hi-Hat|ハイハット君|Hai hatto-kun}}, also known as {{Nihongo|Hi-Hat}} in ''[[Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise]]'', a percussion instrument with a round face, nice eyebrows and cute tongue. Bouncing on Hi-Hat are weights with springs. The player must clamp the Hi-Hat down when the first weight hits and release as the biggest weight lands. Repeating this creates a simple rhythm, with more instruments added the longer the beat is kept going. The player can choose to view a demo at any time, but viewing it will not progress the addition of instruments.
