The Space Umpire[1] (スペースアンパイア?, Supēsu Anpaia) is a green alien in a flying saucer. He appears in the Spaceball minigame in Rhythm Tengoku and Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Backstory
The Space Umpire sits in the UFO in the back during Spaceball. He’s the referee and because there’s only one player, no one objects to his decisions. He’s always seen smiling.[1]. In Lush Remix, he introduces the player to the remix, and is later hit by the batter at the end.
Cameos
The Space Umpire makes a lot of cameo appearances in the series. In the Endless Game Shoot-'Em-Up, several aliens appear during one set of waves in the background. In Remix 9, he appears the epilogues. On the Try Again one, several UFOs with Space Umpires appear chasing Play-Yan's ship away, while in the Superb epilogue, a single one watches Play-Yan "make first contant fun" with the Alien Bunnies from afar.
