Dieter: Difference between revisions

After [[Machine Land]] has been cleared, Dieter may visit the [[Café]] as a customer, where the player can talk to him. He mentions that on his time off, he likes to drive in his car. On one occasion, he went out to see the cherry blossoms in bloom<ref>"Hey, know what I like to do on days off? I drive. I got a REAL cool car, so I drive it alla time. Tomorrow I'm headin' out to see some cherry blossoms. They're all in bloom and beautiful and stuff. It'll be fun!" ~ [[Dieter]], ''[[Rhythm Heaven Megamix]]''</ref>. He wishes to drive all around the world, but has yet to figure out how to cross the oceans<ref>"Hey, you like driving? Me? I love it. I could drive all day and night! Someday I'm gonna drive all around the world... Just need to figure out how to get around those oceans..." ~ [[Dieter]], ''[[Rhythm Heaven Megamix]]''</ref>. He shares an embarrassing story of having to call a mechanic to fix his broken car out in the desert, as he had left his own tools at home<ref>"My car broke down in the desert the other day. I woulda fixed it myself, but... I left all my tools at home like a chump! So I had to call a mechanic. Me! Embarrassin'. He talks about his impressions of [[Eglantine]]<ref>"I met kinda a strange lady the other day. She was carryin' this crazy-looking egg around. And one second she'd be nice, then it's like she's a monster! Guess there's always gonna be a variety o' people, eh?" ~ [[Dieter]], ''[[Rhythm Heaven Megamix]]''</ref>, and a story about finding a frog on the roof of his car<ref>"Lately I was hearing a strange noise when I drove. It got louder when I went faster. So I looked the car over, real careful. Every detail. Know what I found? A frog sitting on the roof! I was goin' pretty fast--musta been terrified. Not much moral to this story, I guess. Watch for frogs?" ~ [[Dieter]], ''[[Rhythm Heaven Megamix]]''</ref>. He mentions a story of when his sister visited him recently, and fixed up an old car he had been putting off fixing. He was proud of her, until she took the last of the cookies he had baked<ref name="sister"/>. He takes any excuse to drive to new places, and he likes taking the scenic route<ref>"Looks like rain. Did you bring an umbrella? No worries if you didn't. I'll drive you home. Really, I'll take any excuse to drive somewhere new. But be ready--I like to take the scenic route!" ~ [[Dieter]], ''[[Rhythm Heaven Megamix]]''</ref>. He once went to the Cool-Car Show, and wishes to drive a car as cool as the ones displayed there<ref>"Have you heard about the Cool-Car Show? I went the other day, and they named it right! Tons of cars, and every one of them was crazy cool! The red car was cool, the square one was cool... Maybe someday if I work hard I'll drive a car that cool..." ~ [[Dieter]], ''[[Rhythm Heaven Megamix]]''</ref>. He picked up [[Boondog]] as a hitchhiker on one occasion, and was given 12 pounds of honey as thanks, although he is not sure what to do with it<ref>"All the driving I do, I pick up hitchhikers sometimes. So I pick up this guy the other day. Weird fella. We talked a bit, but when I dropped him off? He gave me a big ol' pot o' honey to thank me! Come to think of it, he had wings...
