This game is about the factory where robots are made, and the player is in charge of fueling them up with just the right amount of oil. It's also the normal version of Fillbots in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

The game takes place at the feuling station of the factory, where robots fall down and assemble themselves on the right side, and then move down the conveyor belt to the fueling pump. The objective is to hold down the pump at the right time to fuel up robots just the right amount. Failing to follow this causes the robots to manfunction, or not function at all. There are two kinds of robots the player will need to fill: a medium one (4 beats) and a large one (8 beats).

This game is about the factory where robots are made, and the player is in charge of fueling them up with oil, but not too much or too little. It's also the normal variant of Fillbots in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
While the background is relatively bare in Rhythm Heaven, this is changed in Rhythm Heaven Megamix where beakers with oil bouncing through them (timed to the offbeats in the music) and gears moving the conveyor belt are added for visual variety.

The objective of the game is to hold down at the right time to fuel up robots in order to make them functional, as well as releasing at the right time to prevent overfilling it. Filling them up too little or too much will cause them to not function at all. There are two kinds of robots the player will need to fill: a thin one (4 beats) and a large one (8 beats).

*Perfect!/Ace!: The robot will fly off if it's fueled exactly on time or do a little dance if it's not exact but still good enough for a hit.

*Early!/Late!: If the robot is underfueled, it will appear dazed and tilt its head from side to side. If it is overfueled, it will grab its head as if it were about to explode, with its eyes growing large.
*Miss...: The robot will continue down the conveyor belt if the player doesn't do anything. If the player misses while attempting to fuel, the robot's head will tilt. If the player fills the robot too little, it will have crosses on its eyes and appear sad. If the player continues fueling too much, the robot will explode.

Demo
A demo was released on the Nintendo Channel around 2008 for Rhythm Heaven. Unlike the previous two games in the demo, Fillbots is only playable until the end of practice mode.
Trivia
Trivia
*In Rhythm Heaven, this game technically has three graphics sets in the game; one for its own appearance, one for Fillbots 2, and one for Remix 1. However, all three of them are identical.
*In Rhythm Heaven, this game technically has three "versions" in the game; one for its own appearance, one for Fillbots 2, and one for Remix 1. However, all three of them are identical.
*Fillbots receives a successor in Rhythm Heaven Fever with Screwbot Factory; both minigames involve the player trying to power robots by holding down the stylus or buttons for a specific amount of beats. In the Japanese and Korean versions, both minigames even share the same name. When they appeared in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, they received an additional word describing that game in order to differentiate them. This one got オイル while Screwbot Factory got ネジ.

In the Japanese and Korean versions, both share the same name. When they returned in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, their names were altered with an additional word to differentiate them. This game got the word オイル while Screwbot Factory got ネジ.
*In the minigame Cheer Readers, a full ROBO M can be seen in the tutorial, appearing on the open books during the "Ok, it's on!" cheer.
*In Cheer Readers, a full ROBO M can be seen in the Practice, appearing on the open books during the "Ok, it's on!" cheer. The page used for when the player mistimes it shows an unfilled ROBO M instead.
** There is also an unused sprite of an unfilled ROBO M in Megamix.
**There is also an unused sprite of the full unfilled ROBO M image present only in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
*The description for this game in Rhythm Heaven Megamix is taken from its sequel in Rhythm Heaven.
*There is a Practice theme intended for this game in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, but it goes unused.
*This game has a practice theme in the Rhythm Heaven Megamix version, but it goes unused.
*This is one of the few games to retain their original tap controls, the others being Munchy Monk, Freeze Frame, Shoot-'em-up 2, and Lockstep.
* This is one of the few games to keep their original controls from Heaven to Megamix, if the player is using Simple Tap Mode.
*This game appears in the "Wario… Where?" Challenge Train course. In it, ROBO Ms are made to look like Mike, and Dr. Crygor and Penny Crygor can be seen in the background.
** The others are Munchy Monk, Freeze Frame, Shoot-'em-up 2, and Lockstep.
*There is an unused image showing a factory with a strawberry and the number 2 in Rhythm Heaven Megamix. This, alongside the information from Fillbots's Rhythm Item, implies the red oil is actually strawberry juice.
