Gameplay

This machine has a rather simple look to it. Two people are riding horses in the middle of a forest. The player controls a man wearing white clothes and a white hat on a light brown horse machine. The other character is wearing darker colored clothing and has a much darker horse.

The player gets four lessons, each based on the rhythm of a horse gait. Once the player catches up to the other person, they go on to the next lesson. After the fourth, the horse speeds up and the background changes, as long as the player can keep up with the rhythm.

レッスン1 「ナミアシ」 (Lesson 1 "Walk"?): パッ カ パッ カ (Pa~ Ka Pa~ Ka?)

レッスン2 「ハヤアシ」 (Lesson 2 "Trot"?): トッ トッ トッ トッ (To~ To~ To~ To~?)

レッスン3 「カケアシ」 (Lesson 3 "Canter"?): パ カ ラッ (Pa Ka Ra~?)

レッスン4 「シュウホ」 (Lesson 4 "Gallop"?): ド ド ド ドッ (Do Do Do Do~?)

The Secret Story of Uma Machine's Development describes the secret story behind the development of the Uma Machine. It was developed by Mr. F, who wanted to share the joy of riding a horse.

Mr. F experienced many hardships throughout the machine's development. He often lost sight of the goal and considered giving up. Now, Mr. F says that if you play on the Uma Machine and get any bit of enjoyment, his hardships and problems will fly right away.

The mechanical horse itself dreams of becoming a real horse. Its top speed is stated to be over 240 km/h[1].
