Press A to the beat; press it after a countdown from 7; and tap to the beat again, but with a rhythm. The machine will print a piece paper showing how well you did on keeping the beat. After doing the test, you are given a score, talked to again, and taken to the mode selection screen. This test would re-appear in Rhythm Heaven Fever, but without the last step. In the begining you are greeted by a narrator, (most likely the [[Barista]]), who explains all about flow and sends you to the introduction. First, you practice drumming by yourself, represented by a Mii. You need to press "A" a few times to hit the drum. Afterwards, you practice hitting the drum at the same time as two other drummers. After that, you practice syncing with newly added background music. The practice ends by teaching you about the [[Skill Star|Skill Stars]], and it lets you attempt to successfully get one. Regardless of whether you get it or not, the game lets you continue.

Regardless if they get it, the game continues.

  • An unused test-like game can be accessed through the debug menu of Rhythm Tengoku, where it is known as Metronome (メトロノーム?, Metoronōmu)[1]. Here, the player must press the A button as the needle passes over the bird on the top, playing basically the same as the first test in Rhythm-kan Sokutei. It was reworked into Mr. Upbeat in the final game.
  • There is unused text suggesting Chameleon was intended as an "A+B Test" of sorts for Rhythm Heaven Fever[2][3][4], similar to "Practice Flicking". The final instead has a modified version of Rhythm-kan Sokutei (with the third test dummied out) while the Chameleon game was made part of Endless Remix.
