{{Nihongo|<1>|<2>|<3>|<4>}} yields: <1> (<2>?, <3>; lit. '<4>')
- <1> is rendered in Kurokane font.
- <2> (optional) is enclosed in a pair of parentheses that follow <1>. A superscripted question mark is appended to <2>; it links to wikipedia:Help:Multilingual support (East Asian) and helps readers with character set issues.
- <3> (optional) follows <2>, rendered italic.
- <4> (optional) follows <3>, indicating a literal translation.
This template is suitable for following occasions:
- Just pass a piece of text as <1>, if you just want it to be rendered in Kurokane. (This Kurokane word is made from
{{Nihongo|Kurokane}}.) As the body text font used on Rhythm Heaven Wiki doesn't support heavier font weight, this template is a widely-used workaround to make a piece of text bold. - Pass an English name as <1>, a Japanese name as <2>, its rōmaji as <3> and its meaning as <4>. This is the usage recommended by Template:Nihongo on Wikipedia.
- Pass a Latin transcription as <1>, a CJK name as <2> and its meaning as <4>, leaving <3> blank.
- Example:
{{Nihongo|Jiézòu Tiānguó: Qíjì Zhī Xīng|节奏天国 奇迹之星||Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars}} - Output: Jiézòu Tiānguó: Qíjì Zhī Xīng (节奏天国 奇迹之星?; lit. 'Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars')
- Example:
