The tilemap for the background in all three versions of Blue Birds contains several unused elements:
*A crudely drawn bird.
*Tiles depicting a straight line, possibly intended to be a fence.
*Mountains, as well as tiles resembling dirt and clouds.
**In Blue Birds 2, these mountain tiles are repurposed and used in the background, albeit with a cloud layer drawn behind them.
*An unused copy of the platform Captain Blue Bird stands on. The one used in the game is part of the captain's sprite.
*A tank in the distance, along with a defined horizon. The used background is a simple gradient with no clear seperation between the sky and the ground.
The Remix 2 version has the Japanese character "完" in the place of "To be continued.", drawn differently to the one used in Blue Birds 2. This graphic was redrawn and used in Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+, as Blue Birds 2 is not present in that game.
