The game revolves around [[Baxter & Forthington]] having a game of badminton while flying in their planes. Every time Forthington hits the birdie, the player, who controls Baxter, must hit it back on the following beat. Forthington sometimes says "Ba-bum bum bum!" before hitting a birdie, indicating the player must wait two beats before hitting it back.

Every time Forthington hits the birdie, the player, who controls Baxter, must hit it back on the following beat. Forthington sometimes says "Ba-bum bum bum!" before hitting a birdie, indicating the player must wait two beats before hitting it back. He counts out loud, "Two, three, four!" to indicate a return to the normal beat pattern.

The game tries to visually mislead the player by having the two planes distance from each other. The beat remains the same, however, at any distance. In the middle of the game, the sun sets, leaving the two players in silhouette. At night time, the clouds start to obscure the player's vision as well.
