Like the Monkey, he throws balls at the golfer to help him improve. Unlike the Monkey, he flings the ball at a breakneck speed, so fast that if the golfer misses, he will get hurt. To make hitting the ball easier, he makes a cue before he throws.

Physical Appearance
Mandrill is a large, black mandrill with a red nose. His belly is white and he has two strong arms and legs. His hair spikes up on top of his small white ears.

Rhythm Heaven Fever
In Hole in One 2, Mandrill's facial hair turns pink, his belly becomes a more yellow color, and his hair becomes extremely long.
In Rhythm Heaven Fever, the Mandrill appears with the Monkey in Hole in One. It also appears in Remix 1 playing the same role. The Mandrill reappears in Hole in One's sequel, Hole in One 2, where the scenery is very pink and fuchsia-colored and he launches the golf balls at the Female Golfer instead. In this game, he has much more of a part and tosses many more golf balls than in the original Hole in One. Once again, the Mandrill is seen in Remix 9 in the very dark, gloomy, gray area. The top of his head-hair is largely extended to be so long, the monkey from Tambourine grips onto his hair.
Story
Golf Lessons is received upon perfecting Hole in One. It talks briefly about Monkey and Mandrill. Mandrill is said to "Monkey out sometimes" and tells the Golfer that a real golfer should be able to hit a ball regardless of speed. He tells the Golfer to focus on cues and not power.

This is similar to what actually happens in the Hole in One practice. Mandrill greets the player with a "Hellooooo!" as he pounds his chest. Mandrill throws the ball at the player quickly without any warning before Monkey reminds him to use a cue.

Purpose
At the beginning of Rhythm Heaven Fever, Mandrill helps to teach the player to pay attention to the music and cues and not just focus on the visuals. Mandrill displays how hard it can be to play without important audio cues.
