Q Maou

Q Maou (Ｑ魔王?, Kyū Maō), also known as the host (司会者?, Shikai-sha), is a demon that appears in Quiz Show in Rhythm Tengoku and Rhythm Heaven Megamix. The contestant[1] (回答者?, Kaitōsha) tries to copy his patterns to win the quiz.
Story
According to an old book, Q Maou is a legendary demon king who feeds off people's anguish, and is still around today. The recording studio of the Quiz Show is a very convenient place for him, seeing how anxious contestants get during the show. He pretends to be the host of the program and encourages people to play[2].
Whenever the contestant fails, he strives to do better next time. When he fails on the last question, he goes back to studying for next time. After acing the quiz, he scores "one mojillion points"[3], potentially receives a Skill Star[4] and wins a world trip[5].

Trivia
- In Quiz Special, the host's face changes based on how far the player is in the game, revealing his demonic nature. The contestant's face gets more intense in response.
- There are sprites for these faces in Rhythm Heaven Megamix as well, though they go unused. Strangely, the host's purple face with the hair sticking up is redesigned with full on horns, making it look more intimidating than the red design.
