Karate Joe's Father (父さん?, Tōsan) made his debut in the minigame Karate Man Senior in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Physical Appearence
Karate Joe's Father has a tall, black, curly beehive haircut. He wears a black karate outfit with a red belt. He has a moustache, sunglasses, and doesn't wear any shoes.
Backstory
Karate Joe's Father wanted his son to master karate instead of playing soccer, and told his son that he can't leave his house until he masters it. Even at 55[1], Karate Joe still lives in the basement. Father also stole the ball that Joe had bought and used it as a sandbag[2]. Father is a master at karate, but not cooking. Occasionally he makes dinner anyway (like one day when Karate Joe's Mother was out of the house)[3], and asks his son if he likes it. Karate Joe has to lie and say that he likes it to make him feel good. Father got his son bombs in order to make him face his fears. At first, Karate Joe thought they were fake, but then one exploded! He still vividly remembers his Father's face as he said "Are you surprised?"[4] Karate Joe has no idea where his father got them from. Father keeps a bunch of barrels around, but Karate Joe has no idea why. Joe has asked multiple times, but was told that he can only know when he is stronger than his father. Karate Joe envies his Father's incredible vision that allows him to quickly tell the color of a light bulb and counter it. Joe also sees this as an explanation for his Father easily counters his attacks.[5]
Purpose
Karate Joe's Father appears in the last game before Final Remix in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, mirroring how Karate Joe appeared in the last game before Remix 6 (DS), Remix 7 (Wii) and Remix 10 (Wii). He is much stronger than his son, being able to do both kicks and combos in one session, and being able to hit double pots.

Trivia
- The symbol on the back of his outfit reads '父', which is Japanese for 'father'.
- Father is most likely the "Master" who comments on Karate Joe's performance.
- Some text[6][7] imply his name is "Karate Joe Senior", though he is never referred to with this name in the game.
- In the Japanese and Korean versions of the "Barrel" Rhythm Item, it is stated that Karate Joe tried to steal the alcohol stored in the barrels, but was caught by his Father and told he can drink it only when he becomes stronger than him.[8] In the other versions, Joe simply doesn't know what's inside them and is told he has to be stronger than his father to find out.
