Q Maou (Ｑ魔王^?, Kyū Maō), also known as the host (司会者^?, Shikai-sha), is a demon that appears in Quiz Show in Rhythm Tengoku and Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

Story

According to an old book, Q Maou is a legendary demon king who feeds off people's anguish, and he's still around today. The recording studio of the Quiz Show is a very convenient place for him, seeing how anxious contestants get during the show. He pretends to be the host of the program and encourages people to play.^[1]

Trivia

In Quiz Special, the host's face changes based on how far the player is in the game.
- Past 5, he starts to smirk as he presses the buttons.
- Past 10, his face turns purple and his hair sticks up. He opens his mouth to reveal sharp teeth.
- Past 15, his face turns lighter purple, and his hair becomes yellow.
- Past 20, he becomes a full-on red demon with horns, big ears, and large, white eyes.
  - There are sprites for these faces in Rhythm Heaven Megamix as well, though they go unused. Strangely, the purple faced one with the hair sticking up is redesigned with full on horns, making it look more intimidating than the red design.
