Love Lab (恋の実験室?, Koi no Jikken-Shitsu) is the 4th Rhythm Game of the fourth stage (19th overall) in Rhythm Heaven.
Gameplay
This game concerns the Research Scientists of Love Lab who are studying the science of love in the lab. The boy receives a flask from off-screen, which he grabs, causing a blue heart to appear. He then tosses it over to the girl (controlled by the player), who must grab the flask, causing a red heart to appear, and toss it over to the Mysterious Lab Tech in rhythm, who takes the flask away. If done correctly, the hearts connect into pink hearts, which are promptly collected in a bag. Sometimes, the boy shakes the flask, making more hearts appear, before throwing it. The player needs to shake in the same rhythm.
Controls
- Tap (Hold): Catch
- Tap (Release): Drop flask
- Flick: Throw
- Slide: Shake
Timing Display
- Perfect!/Ace!?: The flask is successfully caught, shaken and thrown. The girl quickly glances at the boy with a blush upon throwing. The hearts combine and fall into the white bag.
- Early!/Late!?: Grabbing the flask too early or too late results in a heart either not coming out or floating away. If throwing the flask too early or late, it causes the hearts to float away even if shaken correctly.
- Miss...?: The flask isn't grabbed or tossed, instead falling onto the table, shattering. Shaking off the beat does not make any hearts appear. If the player keeps holding the flask when they should throw it, any hearts that were emitted continue floating off-screen. Any unconnected hearts simply disappear in a skull-like vapor.
