Mitsuo Terada (寺田光男?, Terada Mitsuo), known commonly under his stage name Tsunku♂ (つんく♂?, Tsunku♂), is a real-life Japanese composer who also appeared in, and produces the Rhythm Heaven series.

Biography

As a real-life composer, he partnered with Nintendo to create Rhythm Tengoku, which would go on to become its own series, with Tsunku being heavily involved in its creation and all other games in the franchise. He was and remains widely celebrated, both by the vast majority of fans and by many employees he worked closely with.

As a character, he appears in the Try Again epilogue for Fan Club in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, though it was not noticed until the same character was posted on Tsunku's official Twitter, where it was confirmed that it was a representation of Tsunku. According to the Rhythm Tengoku 18 Secrets interview however, the Samurai Drummer was meant to be a representation of Tsunku, long before a more literal insert would appear in the previously mentioned epilogue. Also in Fan Club, he is one of the people who voice the Monkeys in Japanese[1]. Tsunku is also the singer of Young Love Rock 'n' Roll in Japanese (credited as Ochama in-game), and consequently the voice of The Bandleader from Frog Hop[2].

By the way, the monkeys' call of "Kamone, hoi!" has Tsunku♂'s voice mixed in.
