This page is about the character named Munchy Monk. "I suppose" you may be looking for the Rhythm Game of the same name in Rhythm Heaven and Rhythm Heaven Megamix, or Endless game of the same name?
|
The Munchy Monk (修行おとこ?, Shūgyō Otoko), also known as the Training Monk (修行おとこ?, Shūgyō Otoko)[1], is a bald monk in training who appears in the Rhythm Game Munchy Monk in Rhythm Heaven and Rhythm Heaven Megamix, and the Endless Game of the same name in Rhythm Heaven Fever.
Story
The Munchy Monk is first seen training deep in the mountains, which involves eating dumplings all day, as well as caring for a baby in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
At one point, the monk was spotted by a Bear (クマさん?, Kuma-san), who was ready to eat him for dinner, but left him alone after witnessing the monk eat a dozen dumplings at once, which disgusted the bear. The monk was hired as a clown at an amusement park owned by Carny Barker (園長さん?, Enchō-san), but was ironically fired for eating on the job.
He was later spotted in the mountains by the Circus Ringmaster (園長さん?, Danchō-san), who was so impressed by the monk's eating abilities, that he hired him at once. Life on the glittering stage held no appeal for the monk and he vanished soon after. His incredible eating abilities earned him the title of "Dumpling Man", as well as news coverage of any sightings of him.
The Munchy Monk has appeared in Rhythm Tengoku Gold Comic 09 にぎやかでおだやかな夜の巻き (A lively and peaceful night by Maki), where a boy walks past him as he continues training even during the holidays. After mastering eating, he aims to perfect the art of feeding someone else (in this case, a Chorus Kid) on a moving train[2].
