[[File:Karate_Man's_Father_gameplay.PNG|thumb|left|200px]]In this game, the player controls Karate Joe as he punches and kicks various objects thrown to him. Punches are performed by pressing A button, and must be timed correctly to the rhythm of the music. Upon hearing "Hit 3", the player must hit three consecutive items. On occasion, a lightbulb will be thrown and start glowing yellow (instead of the usual pot) indicating that a barrel containing a bomb will be thrown next. After punching the barrel open, the bomb must then be kicked away by releasing A button at the same time. There is also a combo, which will appear when a light-bulb appears and start glowing blue instead of yellow. Directly after the light-bulb will follow with several pots and then a barrel, which the player will have to hit with a flurry of punches and kicks.
