Karate Joe is the very first character to appear in the Rhythm Heaven series. Not only that, but he is the most recurring character in the Rhythm Heaven franchise, having appeared in all three games in the series.

Rhythm Tengoku

Karate Joe first appeared in Rhythm Tengoku in its first rhythm game, Karate Man. He very soon later appears in the first remix alongside three other games. Much later, he reappears in a following remix, marking the games before the sequels begin, he appears in Remix 5. He would then appear in Karate Man 2 as the game becomes harder. As before, shortly after this rhythm game, he appears in that sections remix, Remix 7. As every other game in Rhythm Tengoku, he appears in the final remix of the video game.

Rhythm Heaven

Karate Joe appears in many games in Rhythm Heaven. He first appears in Karate Man. Soon he reappears in the rhythm game, Remix 6. Many games later, he appears in Karate Man 2, Karate Man's sequel. And he returns in the last two remixes, Remix 9 and Remix 10.

Rhythm Heaven Fever

In Rhythm Heaven Fever, the karate fighter appears in many different games as cameo, however they are usually Easter-eggs. He first appears, as with the other games in the Rhythm Heaven series, in Karate Man. This rhythm game takes place right before the seventh remix, him appearing again. He later appears in Karate Man 2, right before the final remix, him appearing in that as well. This proves that he is the most recurring character in the Rhythm Heaven series.

Trivia

  • Karate Man appears in cameo in Remix 7 of Rhythm Heaven Fever. After the last time you use him in that remix, you see him in between games (right before you start Tap Troupe at one point). You see him sitting on his side on the floor in a nearly empty room watching a small TV, scratching his butt.
  • Karate Man has appeared as a playable character in 15 different games through the serious.
