In this sequel, the game takes place in the past when the Dough Dudes used to work in their original factory somewhere in China, helping out the space rabbits and giant lady dough get back to the moon.

Visual/Gameplay changes
The long version, Working Dough, appears in Stage 3 in Rhythm Heaven Fever and in Donut Tower in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

The game's background is now a bamboo forest, with the Dough Dudes (now in teapots) resting on a red platform with an umbrella on it. Mr. Game and Watch is now dressed like a Chinese emperor, and is standing on a bamboo. Near the end on the game, the rocket resembles a woman drinking tea, and several "alien bunnies" follow it after it launches.

In this game, the Dough Dudes, now in teapots resting on a red platform with an umbrella on it, are tasked with moving fuel orbs in the middle of a bamboo forest. Mr. Game & Watch is now dressed in a purple robe and hat and is standing on bamboo, his appearance now resembling that of Judge. Near the end of the game, the rocket is replaced with a giant dough lady drinking tea, with several Space-Rabbits following it after the launch.
The game's core gameplay stays the same; you need to bounce the balls as the fall to your side by following the pattern of the other workers. However, the game's main difference is in pattern design and spacing. While the first game had quicker, larger patterns with little space between hits, this game has short patterns, with larger breaks between them. This makes the game slower paced, but also makes the player learn the distance between hits.

The game's core gameplay stays the same; moving fuel orbs as they come along by following the co-worker's pattern. The main difference is in pattern design and spacing. While Working Dough has quicker, larger patterns with little space in between, Working Dough 2 has short patterns with larger breaks. This makes the game slower paced, and requires the player to adapt to the new pauses.

|just=The player transports the orbs successfully. They can be seen moving down a conveyor belt in the background, going into a tube to fuel a ship.
*"You...didn't do so hot."
|miss=The player hits the orb off the rhythm, making a "doink" sound. It goes up to the compartment, but doesn't quite reach, and falls down.
*"You needed help with the heavy ones."
|through=The player doesn't jump, causing the orb to fall down. Doing a big jump for a small orb causes it to shatter, while doing a small jump for a big orb causes it to fall down. In any of these scenarios, Mr. Game & Watch makes a pained expression.}}

Skill Star
When the big rocket woman is drinking a cup of tea, hit the little orb perfectly to collect the star.
Trivia
*The bunnies that appear near the end of the game are actually "Alien Bunnies", characters from the WarioWare series, another series worked on by the developers of the Rhythm Heaven series. This isn't the first time they've appeared in the series, either; they also were used in reskins of Marching Orders for Remix 7 and Remix 8 of Rhythm Tengoku.
*The giant lady dough's appearance has been changed in the Korean version as she has a long ribbon attracted to her back, and pink outfit.
