Rhythm Tengoku (Arcade) was an arcade version of Rhythm Tengoku. It was developed by Nintendo, and published by SEGA. It was released around July 2007.

History

According to an Iwata Asks interview apparently SEGA approached Them with an offer for an arcade version. The apparent reason was that apparently the game was popular with SEGA staff.

Differences

  • There is a new "Tempo Line" in the game, with a sped up tempo and different graphics which was not in the GBA version.
  • This is the first game in the series to have better sound quality. The second would be Rhythm Heaven Fever and so on.
  • You could only play a certain amount of games before you would need to insert more money.
  • Ninja uses Left and Right on the D-pad, instead of D-pad and A.

Trivia

  • The pictures surrounding the cabinet show the characters with their GBA appearances, not their Arcade Exclusive Tempo Line graphics.
  • This is one of the very few games developed by Nintendo and SEGA, respectively.
  • This is the first game in the series to have a multiplayer mode.
